Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking an Air Transportation Supervisor to support a unique US Navy program based on the island of Diego Garcia. The Air Transportation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing fleet service operations to ensure aircraft are cleaned, serviced, and prepared for departure in accordance with all applicable regulations and procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise and oversee fleet service operations, ensuring all tasks are completed within the required time while adhering to standards outlined in AFI 24-605 and other applicable procedures and regulations.
- Assign, manage, and supervise a team of Air Transportation personnel for tasks, such as:
- Picking up, loading, and unloading aircraft service equipment and supplies.
- Conducting air transportation galley/lavatory (ATGL) servicing.
- Conducting portable lavatory, aircraft latrine, and water servicing.
- Performing sanitation and cleaning of aircraft interiors.
- Coordinate and monitor work activities to ensure schedules and deadlines are met for scheduled aircraft departures and arrivals.
- Oversee the inspection and proper usage of aircraft service equipment, ensuring it is operational, clean, and in compliance with applicable safety standards.
- Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders, such as cargo handlers and ground crews, to ensure efficient and safe aircraft servicing operations.
- Ensure compliance with all regulations, safety protocols, and operational requirements during fleet servicing operations.
- Prepare reports and maintain accurate records of fleet service activities, including equipment usage, maintenance, and inventory levels.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to ensure skill development, high performance, and adherence to standards.
- Act promptly to resolve operational issues or delays to maintain schedule integrity and customer satisfaction.
- Implement, monitor, and enforce quality assurance and control procedures for all air transportation support activities.
Minimum Requirements:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in fleet service, air transportation, or ground support operations, including supervisory experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics, transportation management, or related fields is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of air transportation regulations, procedures, and standards, including AFI 24-605 guidelines.
- Strong understanding of aircraft servicing practices, including galley/lavatory servicing, portable lavatories, and interior sanitation.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to manage and supervise teams effectively.
- Proficiency with computer systems and software for managing schedules, tasks, and maintenance logs.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a high-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with team members, passengers, and external stakeholders.
- Must be detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
- Passport should be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for the duration of deployment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce is preferred.
- Valid country driver’s license and passport.
- Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).
- Experience working at a military or government-operated passenger terminal or supporting Department of Defense (DoD) air transportation services.
- Familiarity with aircraft servicing requirements, including galley, water, lavatory, and interior sanitation needs.
- Experience managing transportation compliance in a military or government-regulated environment.
- Certification or training in air transportation or logistics management.
