Amentum is seeking a Buyer Procurement Administrative Specialist to join our 1st shift industrial maintenance team in Waukesha, WI. 

Amentum requires efficient purchasing of MRO parts and supplies with organized storerooms containing appropriate inventoried parts to support ongoing maintenance operations. The MRO Buyer will help lead efforts to continuously improve these areas, while performing as the hub for all MRO purchasing.

  • Typical work hours are Monday - Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm; hours and weekend overtime may vary based on business demand.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately select, receive, and store inventory.
  • Prepare and enter purchase requests for purchasing requirements.
  • Verify availability of inventories for maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain, audit, and reconcile inventory records and conduct inventory counts.
  • Prepare and issue requests for quotations and develop substitutes if requisitioned items are not available, surveying markets for alternate sources. Select and negotiate contracts with MRO Suppliers.
  • Contact vendors to obtain prices, negotiate possible price revisions, expedite delivery of purchases,
  • Correct invoice errors, negotiate credits and adjustments, inform of schedule changes and obtain satisfactory arrangements. Communicate with receiving to prevent shipment delays.
  • Evaluate supplier performance, based on set criteria, relative to supplier service and product acceptability.
  • Maintain effective communications with internal customers, as well as suppliers, regarding inventory levels, prices, terms, delivery, unscheduled orders, deadlines and so on.
  • Process and fill stocked standard orders, special orders, and orders.
  • Research and source new products and vendors as assigned.
  • Participate in related staff, team and/or task group meetings to ensure the continuous improvement of processes, methods, productivity, and quality, while reducing costs.
  • Conduct a continuous study of internal processes and methods, research new technology and develop proposals for application of such technology for the purposes of cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with suppliers that motivates compliance, promotes improved performance, and avoids compromising responsibility.
  • Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least three (3) years prior experience in an established storeroom environment for a high tech/automated manufacturing operation.
  • High attention to detail
  • Possess ability to work independently and make critical decisions.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills

Additional Information:

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
  • This position may require a valid Driver’s License.

  • This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
  • This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when required.  May be required to work holidays and weekends.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
  • Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
  • Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
  • Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
  • Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
  • Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
  • Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.  
  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

Special Requirements:

  • Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained

       

Compensation Details:

$25.00 - $30.00 ph
