Role Title: Capability Integration Engineer

Primary Responsibilities: Provision of specialised integration engineering services to the SSN-AUKUS Program Requirements Directorate to implement capability and delivery models and frameworks that are fundamental to the delivery of Nuclear-Powered Submarine (NPS) Capability Systems to Navy and the Integrated Focused Force (IFF) via DEF 1. Support provided will lead capability integration analysis and capability development planning for the NPS Capability, including trilateral integration of specialised engineering services to develop Nuclear - Powered submarine requirements.


The key responsibilities of the role include, but not limited to: 
1. Development and maintenance of a detailed understanding of the SSN-AUKUS Capability Integration Engineer in support of the development of the Operating and Support Intent.
2. Develop and maintain the Capability Requirements Set necessary to define the Fundamental Inputs to Capability necessary to develop the Support System required by NPS.
3. Engage with the Australian Submarine Agency to represent Capability Sponsor equities, particularly Phase 1, Engineering & Technical Division, and Stewardship and Security Division.
4. Work with Director General - Submarines and Director General Naval Warfare Integration offices to ensure capability integration in support of Undersea Warfare (USW) capabilities and the submarine domain.
5. Collaborate across the Department of Defence and AUKUS partners to ensure that NPS Capability are integrated into the Joint Force and interoperable with AUKUS partners and allies.
6. Act as the Capability Sponsors Point of Contact and representative in the development of Capability Integration Requirement sets in AUKUS and Department of Defence working groups and forums
7. Development, drafting and delivery of briefings, decision and noting briefs, and draft directives for ADG NSMC and the SSN-AUKUS Program Requirements Directorate 
8. Engage in an ongoing capacity with the AUKUS Capability Working Groups and Sub-working Groups.
9. Support artefact development, drafting, consultation and preparation in support of OCD development.
10. Contribute to the NPS Capability risk assessment and analysis, including risks to key accountabilities and responsibilities for the NPS Program.
11. Provide ASA/DEF1 Program representation in Defence Capability Development related fora.
12. Development and implementation of Requirements Branch Business/Work plan.

Essential Requirements:
-  Bachelor of Engineering from an Australian institution, or a qualification gained elsewhere, that satisfies the requirements of the Washington Accord for recognition as a Professional Engineer.
-  Demonstrated long term practical knowledge of platform integration engineering
-  Self driven with the ability to set milestones and work autonomously
-  Exceptional stakeholder engagement and management skills with the ability to influence and negotiate where necessary
-  V & V experience as well as certification requirements

- Demonstrates creativity, innovation, and ethical thinking in applying solutions for the benefit of the
customer/stakeholder.
- Able to provide comprehensive advice on the available standards, methods, tools, and applications relevant to own specialism and can make
appropriate choices from alternatives.
