The LAND 6504 Networks, Communications and Data Links Engineering resources will assist development of the communications architecture, tactical data links integration, network design, information exchange requirements and cyber-enabled communications capabilities supporting Combined Pass approval activities. The resources will provide specialist advice across tactical communications, SATCOM, Link 16, JREAP/JDN, network architectures, battle management systems, ADF and coalition interoperability and communication requirements.

Role :

• Identify communications systems, network components, tactical data links and information exchange requirements included within the LAND 6504 capability solution.

• Collect and analyse communications architecture, network design and interoperability data from Defence, Industry, OEM and FMS stakeholders.

• Support communications and data link integration activities with key Defence, Industry, CIOG, JCG and Coalition stakeholders.

• Assess tactical communications, Link 16, JREAP/JDN, SATCOM and network architectures for any other networks against operational requirements and capability objectives.

• Support development of FPS for Network and communication requirements.

• Conduct comparative capability assessments of network and communications solutions considering operational effectiveness, interoperability, maturity, integration complexity and future growth potential.

• Conduct risk and opportunity analysis associated with communications architecture, tactical data links, spectrum management, network integration and information exchange requirements.

• Assess communications network performance considering different operational scenarios, threat environments, force structures and ADF integration requirements.

• Support development of communications architecture products, System Architecture Documents (SAD), Interface Registers and Interface Control Documents (ICD).

• Assess interoperability requirements across Joint Fires, Battle Management Systems (BMS), Joint and Coalition networks and Defence enterprise systems.

• Identify communications, network, interoperability and integration risks and recommend mitigation strategies to support capability effectiveness and acquisition outcomes.

• Support development of engineering evidence, technical recommendations and architecture products required for Combined Pass activities.

Mandatory requirements:

- Minimum NV1 clearance with ability to obtain NV2. (NV2 Clearance preferred).

- Must be able to work from Brindabella Business Park 5 days per week, CBR location preferred.

- Relevant experience undertaking role responsibilities.

- Minimum 6 years’ experience, preferably within Defence.

- Experience in complex acquisition projects.
