We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Part-time Contracts & Procurement Specialist to support federal contract administration, procurement operations, and compliance activities across multiple federal programs. This role is ideal for a contracting professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, understands federal acquisition regulations, and enjoys improving processes that drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day‑to‑day administration of the JETS 2 Prime Contract, including contract modifications, DRD submissions, tariff surcharge resolution, and preparation of formal communications for Business Management.
  • Oversee Inter-Work Agreements (IWAs), including submission, tracking, coordination of responses, and archival.
  • Review Statements of Work (SOWs) for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal acquisition requirements, with increased activity during fiscal yearend.
  • Lead contract close‑out efforts for multiple federal prime contracts, coordinating final indirect rate agreements and supporting audit activities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on federal procurement regulations, tariffs, VAT, and complex contractual issues.
  • Monitor updates to the FAR and NFS ensuring internal procedures and compliance documentation remain current.
  • Evaluate Amentum Corporate Global Supply Chain policies for potential local adoption and alignment.
  • Research and assess AI‑enabled tools that can streamline acquisition documentation and procurement workflows.
  • Develop and deliver guidance, training, and job aids to improve the Purchase Request (PR) process and reduce rework across the organization.

Requisition Qualifications:

  • ​ Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 10 years of experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of the FAR/NFS and federal acquisition lifecycle.
  • Experience supporting federal prime contracts, including closeouts and rate agreement coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to review and interpret SOWs, PRs, and acquisition documentation.
  • Familiarity with indirect rate structures, audits, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex contractual issues.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including drafting formal correspondence and training materials.
  • Experience with contract management systems, procurement platforms, and digital workflow tools.

Requisition Preferences:

  • 12-15 years of experience in federal contracting, procurement, or contract administration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Public Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field.
  • Preferred certifications (not required):
    • NCMA: CPCM, CFCM, CCCM
    • Supply chain or procurement‑related credentials

Essential Functions

Work Environment

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
