About the Role
Amentum is seeking an experienced Control Supervisor Engineer to lead the safe delivery of control, instrumentation and automation systems across water and wastewater projects. The role is responsible for supervising installation, testing, commissioning and handover activities while coordinating contractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary project teams to ensure compliance with design, quality, safety and programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise installation, testing and commissioning of PLC, SCADA, telemetry and instrumentation systems.
Ensure works comply with approved designs, specifications, control philosophies and industry standards.
Coordinate subcontractors, system integrators and site teams to deliver control and instrumentation activities safely and efficiently.
Support FAT, SAT, loop checks, functional testing and system integration testing.
Monitor progress, resolve technical issues and manage interfaces with mechanical, electrical, civil and process disciplines.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
Review and maintain commissioning records, test documentation, as-built drawings and handover packs.
Liaise with clients, suppliers and operational teams to support successful project delivery and system integration.
Essential Requirements
Qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Control, Instrumentation or Automation Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
Proven experience supervising control and instrumentation installation and commissioning activities.
Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, telemetry and industrial control systems.
Experience interpreting engineering drawings, P&IDs, I/O schedules, wiring diagrams and control philosophies.
Strong understanding of testing, commissioning, fault finding and system handover processes.
Excellent communication, organisational and contractor management skills.
Commitment to health, safety and quality excellence.
Desirable Requirements
Experience within the UK water and wastewater sector.
Knowledge of major UK water utility standards and delivery frameworks.
Experience with MCCs, variable-speed drives and intelligent motor control systems.
FAT, SAT and integrated system testing experience.
CSCS, ECS, SSSTS, SMSTS or equivalent site safety qualification.
Professional registration or working towards EngTech, IEng or CEng.
