Role Description
We’re looking for an experienced Cost and Finance Analyst to join a high-performing team within the Collaborative and Autonomous Systems Project Office (CASPO) supporting the delivery of project AIR6015 Air Autonomous Collaborative Platforms and the MQ-28 Ghost Bat capability.

In this role, you will support project execution by providing a specialist financial forecasting, modelling, and analysis skillset, helping to manage a critical program and shape long term investment decisions. You’ll work in a highly collaborative, integrated environment while operating with autonomy and influence, partnering with project stakeholders across Defence and Industry.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-impact program, while growing your expertise in a structured, forward-looking Defence environment . 

Day to day tasks include:

  • Support the financial management of a major Defence project, including the management of project forecasts, cost estimates, and cost models.
  • Analyse cost drivers, trends, and variances to provide clear, actionable financial insights
  • Provide trusted financial and commercial advice to project teams, senior leaders, and stakeholders
  • Contribute to procurement activities, including financial analysis for proposals and tender processes
  • Ensure alignment with Defence financial frameworks, policies, and governance requirements
  • Drive improvements in project financial management tools, processes, and reporting capability
  • Build strong working relationships to support high-quality, timely program outcomes

Essential Requirements:

  • 5–7+ years’ experience in cost estimation, financial modelling, or forecasting within Defence, government, or complex project environments
  • Strong understanding of Defence financial management, costing frameworks, and procurement processes
  • Proven experience in financial forecasting and communicating financial insights for large-scale programs.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including formula development, modelling, and forecasting and data visualisation
  • Desirable experience with data visualisation and business intelligence reporting tools (e.g. PowerBI).
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders and industry partners
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under pressure
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, governance, and data integrity
  • Australian Citizenship and NV1 Security Clearance essential

Required Security Clearance Level: Active NV1 Clearance.

Location: Amberley QLD. 

Weekly Hours: Monday to Friday / 40 hours per week, with options for work from home on Friday's - depending on task requirements
