Responsible for assisting on IT projects. This position will effectively collaborate and contribute to a cross-functional team with software engineers, data managers, network & system administrators, and other technical staff. Plans, develops, and implements administrative or technical solutions to increase security and defend against hacking, malware and ransomware, insider threats, and other types of malicious activity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Provide information and systems security support to the organization under minimal supervision.
2.Maintain systems to protect data from unauthorized users and monitors compliance with the organization's information security policies and procedures.
3.Perform daily monitoring activities, including analysis of logs and reports from firewalls and other boundary protection devices to identify and investigate anomalous log entries which impact the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of information systems.
4.Identify vulnerabilities that are applicable to systems and applications to assess their severity and urgency.
5.Work with system administrators and network administrators to track corrective action, resolution progress, and mitigation of vulnerabilities.
6.Maintain, and monitor firewall and network intrusion detection systems.
7.Maintain, and utilize automated vulnerability scanning tools.
8.Support Security Operations Center (SOC) operations on a rotating basis for event and incident response.
9.Participate and manage continuous monitoring / security operation activities.
10.Participate in technical assessment using stanndard industry tools.
11.Identify and mitigate risks throughout assessments.
12.Participate in security control reviews and provide improvement guidenance.
13.Work with users to resolve concerns and explain how to minimize security risks.
14.Respond to security related events and incidents.
15.Create Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) for Cyber tools.
16.Other duties as assigned.

9. Exposure to or skills with any of the following: NIST SP 800-53, Networking, Server Operations or one of the LM Cybersecurity technical systems (Splunk, CrowdStrike, Cisco FirePower, etc.).
10.Reviewing project charters, schedules, plans and assisting in executing them to completion.

Compensation Details:
$67,250.15 - $85,147.36
