Amentum is seeking a Data Specialist I to join our DOJ Civil Division Frauds Lab eDiscovery Team.

The Data Specialist I position is an entry level position operating under the supervision and direction of a project manager. The Data Specialist I performs eDiscovery data processing tasks including data loading, file conversion services, database indexing, and creates and modifies load files for upload into Relativity/RelOne.  The Data Specialist I is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of data loading, manipulation, and conversion by performing quality control (QC).  The Data Specialist I also performs basic tasks related to exporting data from Relativity/RelOne and other related systems. 

The Data Specialist I will:

• Manage and execute all aspects of eDiscovery data loading including conversion, database indexing, exporting, and QC checks.

• Creates and modifies basic load files to be used for loading into litigation support databases such as Relativity/RelOne and other similar platforms.

• Performs native file processing, TIFF conversion, and other conversion services as needed.

• Communicates directly with legal teams regarding questions about data sets received.

• Identify and report loading errors/issues to senior team members.

• Consults with the senior team members for recommended fixes.

• Perform assigned QC tasks.

• Scan paper documents.

• Track and update stats and statuses for all work in the tracking system.

• Provide regular and ad-hoc reporting.

• This is a full-time position (40 hours a week).

• This is currently a HYBRID work position located at a secured facility in Washington, DC.

Required Qualifications:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

• Requires some experience with Relativity/RelOne or other similar eDiscovery platforms. 

• Knowledge of text editors, file manipulation applications, and experience with various litigation support tools, is extremely helpful.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Government’s IT environment, including office automation networks, PC and server based applications is very helpful. 

• Undergraduate degree preferred; preferably in the computer science or information management/technology fields. 

• Technical certification(s) valued.

• Experience with Relativity, RelOne, LAW, and Concordance is preferred.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Be willing to work on a flexible or dead-line driven schedule including occasional evenings and weekends.

*Employees will earn H&W dollars per eligible hour (including vacation and holiday up to 40 hours/week). H&W monies are used to offset the employer’s cost of benefits the employee elects into and/or utilizes. Any remaining health and welfare monies after all applicable deductions would be cashed out to the employee on a 1 pay period lag.
