Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a DDC Technician (Water Systems) to support a unique US Navy program based on the island of Diego Garcia. The technician will assist in performing inspection, survey, data review, and corrective action updates necessary for the ongoing maintenance and certification of water systems as specified in CNIC M-5090.1A.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support all inspections, surveys, and data reviews associated with the water systems’ Certificate to Operate (CTO) review process as outlined in CNIC M-5090.1A.
- Participate in conducting sanitary surveys, providing detailed assessments of water systems to identify potential health or regulatory compliance issues.
- Respond to Requests for Information (RFI) and collect accurate and relevant data required by stakeholders, regulatory agencies, or government representatives.
- Update the Requirements Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) to reflect corrective actions taken or required improvements to meet compliance standards.
- Assist with identifying and implementing required corrective actions to address deficiencies or concerns highlighted during sanitary surveys or inspections.
- Review existing documentation and prepare reports to ensure all data regarding water system performance and compliance is accurate and up to date.
- Maintain proper documentation for regulatory compliance, providing clarity, transparency, and supporting preparations for the Certificate to Operate review process.
- Support ongoing performance evaluations, testing, and maintenance of water systems to ensure smooth operations and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate and communicate with internal departments, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders to address inquiries and ensure alignment on water system requirements.
- Stay updated on industry standards and CNIC M-5090.1A guidelines to ensure all water system inspection and remediation efforts align with best practices.
Minimum Requirements:
- 2-3 years of experience in inspection, assessment, maintenance, and compliance of water systems operations or related technical systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Certificate to Operate (CTO) review processes and CNIC M-5090.1A water systems management guidelines.
- Experience conducting sanitary surveys, creating assessments, and responding to key documentation processes such as Requests for Information (RFI).
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of water treatment systems, utilities, and infrastructure.
- Detail-oriented, with proven ability to document, review, and update processes such as a Requirements Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM).
- Working knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to water systems compliance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with internal teams, external stakeholders, and government representatives effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word, for tracking tasks and generating reports.
- Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
- Passport should be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance for the duration of deployment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce is preferred.
- Valid country driver’s license and passport.
- Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).
- Additional certifications or training in water systems management or certification processes, such as drinking water treatment and distribution certifications.
- Knowledge of Navy utility and infrastructure systems or prior experience supporting water systems in military or government facilities.
- Technical certifications in environmental engineering, utility systems maintenance, or water treatment operations.
- Familiarity with the operation of tools and equipment employed in water systems maintenance and inspection.
