Position Title: Defense Red Switch Network/DRSN CMSFS Lead

Location: Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station, Colorado

Relocation Assistance: None available at this time

Clearance Type: Top Secret with SCI Eligibility

Shift: Provide oversight for 24x7 operations. It is important to be available to work any shift/designated hours required including nights, weekends, and holidays on a modified Panama schedule if required.

Travel Required: Up to 10% of the time

Our NORAD Operations Group

Selected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC), we support the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II).

Since 2020, through the (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II), has provided:

  • Operations, maintenance, and Sustainment of current and legacy systems for the surveillance and cataloging of manmade objects in space.
  • Mitigation of orbital conflicts.
  • Threat warnings and control from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems for threat activities.
  • Operations and maintenance of classified communications.
  • Software development and integration.

NISSC II supports the classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability and legacy space C2 systems located at:

  • Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado
  • Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado
  • Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska
  • Vandenberg Space Force Base, California
  • Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the world

Description of Duties:

The Defense Red Switch Network/DRSN CMSFS Lead supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will:

  • Implements and maintain various technical systems and serves as an interface to the supported community users.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and training to others in the group. Serves as a backup to the lead computer systems administrator.
  • Build and/or debug complicated hardware and software to correct difficult problems using technically advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Develop and implement system documentation and operation procedures.
  • Identify and corrects processing anomalies. Coordinates and administers the test and installation of network connections. Configures and debugs network equipment.
  • Research into the selection and installation of new computer equipment, including hardware and software.
  • Performs and provides server, workstation, and system expertise including on-site and off-site travel.
  • Oversee the order and replacement of new hardware and software, including warranty claims. Implements functions with data and documentation management of systems.

This position will be filled and work onsite at Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station, Colorado

Basic Requirements:

  • Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
  • 2.5 years or more of directly related experience is required
  • 5 years or more of general work experience is required
  • 4 years or more experience in management/supervision managing 6 or more personnel.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating technical requirements with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Must be able to work in a high visibility environment, focused on 24X7 mission availability, and quickly respond to customer direction/requests. 
  • Must be able to work in a DoD mission-oriented environment.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent technical/field training; cryptographic equipment training
  • IAT Level II Certification *One of the following: CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP

Compensation Details:

$95,000-$125,000
