The Electrical Engineer designs, develops and maintains electrical systems and/or components to required specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality and sustainability.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Electrical Engineers shall provide complete design assistance services including electric power distribution networks, power load determination, exterior electrical, interior electrical, fire alarm systems, and site lighting designs.

  • Electrical engineers shall be familiar with local/applicable codes and shall comply with communications requirements and account for them in design documents.

  • This discipline attends meetings as required for projects or investigative/ project development taskings.

  • This discipline shall also be responsible for selected construction inspections, quality control, submittal reviews beyond the expertise of construction managers.

  • In addition, this discipline may be required to travel to areas in the local area outside of the military installation to verify design requirements and quality of work being performed on jobs/projects.

  • This discipline shall also review each design to ensure that all UFC, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standards and building construction specifications are met.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience related to the requirements and qualifications necessary to manage and perform the task.

  • Electrical Engineer shall have knowledge of: principles of engineering, planning, project programming, and ability to interpret plans and drawings.

  • Additionally, the EE must be well versed in electrical distribution systems.  

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and a government background check.

  • Must be able to speak English.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:  Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.   

Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat risk and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel: reach with hands and arms: talk or hear: and taste or smell. Requires climbing on ladders, scaffolding, and platforms: standing, bending, and working in cramped areas: lifting and carrying tools and equipment which occasionally may weigh over 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Physically fit to stand and bend for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds. Mandatory use of appropriate Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE).  Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable. Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.  Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.  Must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines.  Must have the ability to work well with others, to include the Government.
