Amentum is seeking an Environmental Safety Manager (ES) located in the Williamsburg area of Virginia for a base operations support contract ensuring safety and environmental conditions are met to protect employees.  The manager is responsible for providing the necessary resources, processes, and procedures to ensure full compliance with company standards, client contract requirements, and government regulations. This position develops and delivers effective policies, procedures, auditing, training, communications, and educational materials to promote increased understanding and adherence to safe operating practices through the workplace. 

The ES manager shall demonstrate and apply highly developed personal, analytical, and professional communication (written and verbal) skills. Also demonstrate the ability to manage complex programs in a diverse and dynamic environment with short-notice tasking’s under high pressure.

Job Requirements:

  • Ensure that all environmental and occupational health and safety services are delivered; and all tasks are performed in accordance with the client contract requirements.
  • Support other key management personnel in their responsibilities and ensure they manage in line with relevant statutory, security, environmental, and occupational health compliance requirements.
  • Ensure compliance and data tracking in accordance with company ESH polices, procedures and instructions; maintaining a presence in company ESH training, focus groups, and data calls.
  • Maintain a professional staff and ensure they follow established training protocols, policies, procedures, and instructions at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with the client employees and departments to accomplish tasks and contract requirements and promote a customer friendly environment in support of operations at all levels.
  • Ability to deliver high quality services that align with the needs of the customer and in accordance with applicable company policies, applicable regulations, and industry best management practices.
  • Evaluate, identify, and correct occupational safety, health, and environmental programs and work practices.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational safety, health, and environmental programs including writing and implementing policies, programs, and regulations.
  • Ability to inspect work areas to identify hazards and provide mitigations for housekeeping, warehousing, industrial trades, and administrative work environments.
  • Provide training and coaching on all required OSHA and EPA programs relevant to client services provided.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and adapting to changing client priorities and schedule.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must possess a current USG TS/SCI with poly clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or Environmental Health Sciences.
  • Possess an Associate Safety Professional (ASP) Certification.
  • Possess a Safety Training Supervisor (STS) Certification or obtain STS within 3 months of hire date.
  • Possess a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or obtain CSP/CIH within 1 year of hire date.
  • Familiarization with company policies, procedures, and instructions adapted to program activities.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and tracking EHS budgets to include following prescribed procurement processes/instructions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience managing an environmental safety program.
  • Demonstrated professional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Tools and commercial Occupational Safety Databases.

       

Compensation Details:

115,000
