The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor oversees daily maintenance operations and personnel, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of facility systems. This role operates under moderate supervision, applying established procedures and policies to complete assignments while leading a team and supporting production objectives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise, assign, and monitor daily work of maintenance staff to ensure timely completion of tasks
Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to a team of semi-skilled employees
Perform hands-on maintenance tasks as needed to support team operations
Coordinate response to critical system issues, including after-hours calls
Partner with planners to ensure CMMS/work order reporting is accurate and effective
Procure materials and services in accordance with corporate procurement policies
Ensure compliance with all corporate safety standards and documentation requirements
Manage vendor relationships, including scheduling and coordination of external contractors
Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders in a high-production environment
Support off-shift, weekend, and holiday work as required
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises maintenance personnel
Assigns tasks, inspects work, and ensures adherence to schedules
Provides ongoing performance feedback and development support
Minimum Qualifications
Five (5) years of experience performing a variety of skilled facilities, building, and grounds maintenance and repair work, with a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience; OR
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Maintenance, Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field
Facilities Management Professional (FMP) certification or similar credential
Work Environment & Additional Requirements
Must be available for after-hours support and emergency response
Ability to work non-standard shifts, including weekends and holidays
Comfortable working in a high-stress, fast-paced environment with client interaction
Scope of Responsibility
Receives predetermined assignments with moderate supervision and review
Works on issues of limited scope using established procedures
Errors may impact schedules and operational timelines
Regular interaction with team members and cross-functional groups
