Facilities Manager – NSB Kings Bay

We are seeking a highly capable Facilities Manager to lead and oversee facilities operations, maintenance, and service delivery in support of the KBOS contract at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay. This position is responsible for managing a diverse workforce of supervisors, leads, and union technicians across multiple facility-related disciplines. The KBOS contract operates 24/7/365, with standard hours Monday–Friday, 0700–1600.

Summary / General Description of Job

The Facilities Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all facilities management activities related to operations, sustainment, restoration, and modernization at NSB Kings Bay. This role ensures that facilities services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with contract requirements, Amentum policies, and customer expectations.

The Facilities Manager serves as the primary point of contact for facility-related issues and acts as a key leader in maintaining operational readiness and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties & Job Functions

  • Lead the execution of facilities operations, maintenance, and service delivery across assigned functional areas.

  • Implement Amentum policies, procedures, and facility management strategies to ensure consistent, high-quality performance.

  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, IDIQ assessments, recurring work, and project execution.

  • Monitor work progress, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective actions to maintain operational standards.

  • Prepare and deliver reports, briefings, and updates to Senior leadership.

  • Maintain situational awareness of safety, mission-critical issues, and customer concerns; communicate promptly and effectively.

  • Provide leadership to supervisors and technicians, including training, scheduling, performance management, and disciplinary actions.

  • Foster a positive, safety-focused work environment that supports employee engagement and retention.

  • Manage labor, materials, and resources to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.

  • Coordinate with Work Control to ensure timely communication with customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Support budget development, contract modifications, and operational forecasting.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, Amentum SOPs, and all contractual requirements.

  • Oversee multiple projects and priorities, ensuring quality, timeliness, and adherence to scope.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written formats.

Accountable For

  • Understanding and effectively using work control, CMMS, and logistics systems.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Professional use of office equipment and digital tools.

  • Understanding customer needs and delivering solutions that maintain contract integrity.

  • Personnel oversight, including timesheet review, leave approval, coaching, and recognition.

  • Clear communication with management, customers, and team members.

  • Completion of required training per government and company directives.

  • Timely and accurate execution of assigned tasks and deliverables.

  • Professional conduct and adherence to Amentum safety policies and work practices.

  • Compliance with Amentum SOPs and personnel policies.

  • Managing multiple tasks under pressure while maintaining quality.

  • Being onsite during normal business hours and available for after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications

Mandatory

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline and at least three (3) years of experience in maintenance or operations leadership; OR a total of eight (8) years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience supervising personnel or managing facilities operations of similar size, scope, or complexity.

  • 30 Hour OSHA certification (or ability to obtain).

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate employees.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Ability to pass required background checks and drug testing.

  • U.S. Citizenship.

Preferred

  • Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain one.

  • Experience managing facilities operations in a government, military, or industrial environment.

  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and facility asset management best practices.

       

Compensation Details:

$115000
