Facilities Specialist
Purpose and Scope:
The facility specialist is responsible for ensuring that the site’s physical buildings are being kept up and all discrepancies are reported. They will perform inspections, recommend improvements, and tracks issues to resolution. Will have additional duty as the Site Training Monitor.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Point of contact for all facility related issues.
- Plans and coordinates work with base support to resolve issues and deconflicts access.
- Reviews blueprints and follows verbal instructions to resolve facility issues.
- Conducts facility inspections monthly, maintain building logs and inputs issues into sharepoint excel tracker
- Responsible for Inventory control for pilferable items (ie. Lightbulbs/fuses/ceiling tiles).
- Ensure facilities operational systems remain serviceable and reports all discrepancies and follows-up on the repair actions.
- Responsible inventory, daily issue and upkeep of tools.
- Ensures all tools, personal protective equipment, and clothing issued remain safe, secure and serviceable, reporting any deficiencies.
- Conforms to Amentum/USAF safety, hazardous material, and quality standards.
- Follows all prescribed regulations, instructions, technical orders and procedures in performance of responsibilities.
- Training Monitor oversees and inspects individual training records.
- Reports status of training to Program Support Office.
- Reviews Special Certification Rooster (SCR) and recommends updates.
- Coordinate additional training when required.
- Contributes to other functional areas in meeting production goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of applicable safety procedures, regulations, and guidelines.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs with or without accommodation. Must utilize all proper lifting procedures and practices.
- Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Must be able to work at heights.
- Work experience in record keeping, computer systems, facility inspections, and training.
- Proactive and able to work with minimal supervision to meet requirements.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Work is performed in in an office, maintenance shop, warehouse environment, and wood shop that is moderately lighted, heated, and ventilated, is exposed to disagreeable fumes and other hazards. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The employee is occasionally required to squat, kneel, stoop, bend, lay down, twist, climb, balance, stand, and sit to install equipment in a physically demanding environment. Frequently lifts items weighing 40-45 pounds and occasionally more than 50 pounds. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock. Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) wear is required according to prescribed procedures and as required for task being performed The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, or may include unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues.
Other Responsibilities:
