The Food Service Admin is responsible for assisting the DFAC Manager in all aspects of the food service operations to promote customer satisfaction and to maximize profitability. Duties of this position include: ensuring food is professionally prepared and served, supervising Food Service employees, providing exceptional customer service, safety and establishing standards of sanitation.

This position requires the individual to be eligible to obtain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required. 

Essential Functions Statement(s)

· Assist Manager in all aspects of the food service operations to promote customer satisfaction and to maximize profitability.

· Assist Manager with managing department’s financial affairs effectively, ethically, and innovatively within the constraints of approved budget.

· Monitor Dining Service activities to ensure that the food produced is professionally served.

 · Assist the Manager in training, supervising, monitoring, and evaluating Dining Service Aides.

 · Promote effective communication between Dining Service staff, customers, students, and staff.

 · Inspect Dining Service equipment to ensure safe and proper operation.

 · Responsible for basic food preparation and cooking.

 · Provide excellent customer service.

 · Responsible for clean up and sterilization of facility.

 · Monitor operations to ensure proper portions are served.

· Monitor and maintain inventory to ensure proper placement, quantity, quality, and freshness of product.

· Responsible for closing out daily till in absence of Manager.

· Responsible for opening and closing facility in absence of Manager.

· Other duties assigned.

Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 2+ years of specialized experience as a Food Service Supervisor

  • Experience in quantity cooking, preparation of a variety of food items, menu planning and cost control of food preparation, inventory and storage procedures for food supplies and equipment, finances, and procurement of food supplies and equipment.

  • The experience must include supervising personnel. In addition, the incumbent must have knowledge of planning culinary activities, and portion control.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Must be able to reside in remote work location with limited medical facilities.
  • Valid U.S. passport and driver’s license are required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

       

Compensation Details:

$19.50
