Role Title: Integrated Logistics Support Manager (ILSM)

Background and Scope:
LAND 8710 is a complex Defence program delivering joint Army and Royal Australian Navy capability, requiring integration of land systems into maritime environments. The Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Manager is responsible for ensuring the capability is logistically supportable, sustainable, and cost-effective across its lifecycle, from acquisition through to in-service support. The role leads the development and delivery of ILS elements such as maintenance, supply support, training, technical data, and support systems, ensuring alignment with Defence sustainment frameworks. Working closely with engineering, Army, RAN, CASG, and industry partners, the ILS Manager ensures the capability can be operated, maintained, and supported effectively in both land and maritime contexts, including amphibious operations.


Responsibilities:
This role ensures logistics, sustainment, and asset management considerations are fully integrated into the amphibious vessels program, supporting effective transition into service and long‑term operational availability.

The ILSM will be responsible for: 

- Provision of Integrated Logistics Support, Logistics Support Analysis, Technical Data, Configuration Management and on-boarding advice, assistance and oversight; including analysis, definition, planning, acquisition, transition, in-service management, sustainment, asset management, and disposal
- Work with Army and RAN stakeholders to ensure support solutions meet operational needs across land and maritime environments
- Ensure compliance with relevant Defence frameworks (e.g., ASDEFCON, DLM, DSEM) and sustainment policies
- Monitor and manage ILS risks, including supply chain, obsolescence, and support system gaps
- Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure design for supportability, reliability, and maintainability (R&M)
- Provide input to program scheduling, cost, and reporting for sustainment-related activities
- Review of engineering change proposals and contract deliverables

Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in supporting land, maritime or naval acquisition and sustainment programs
- Proven ability to develop and manage:

  •   ILS Plans (ILSP)
  •   Logistics Support Analysis (LSA)
  •   Maintenance and support concepts

- Long term experience delivering and overseeing logistics support across the capability life cycle in a maritime or naval environment
- Understanding of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM) analysis
- Working knowledge of Defence frameworks and standards, such as:

  • ASDEFCON
  • Defence Logistics Manual (DLM)
  •   Defence Systems Engineering Manual (DSEM)

- Ability to identify and manage sustainment risks, including:

  •   Supply chain constraints
  • Obsolescence
  •   Maintenance capability gaps

- Solid background in the engagement of key stakeholders including Navy, APS, ADF, industry contractors, and sustainment organisations.
- Strong communication skills for:

  •  Technical reporting
  •  Briefings and governance forums


Desirable Requirements:
- Experience in maritime sustainment environments or shipboard logistics
- Familiarity with amphibious or deployable logistics support concepts
- Practical understanding of Defence supply chains and inventory systems
- Strong focus on continuous improvement and lifecycle optimisation
