The Information Technology Operations Manager will be based at Amentum sites in US Embassy, Caracas supporting DiPSS Venezuela BLS contract in support of the US. Department of State. The role involves overseeing IT infrastructure and system functionality at the Embassy. This position will report to the Project Manager with technical oversight provided by the Amentum IT Field Services department (ITFS) or a designated representative. The manager may supervise additional IT professionals, either directly or indirectly as those positions are added to the Task Order. Responsibilities may vary but generally reflect the assigned nature and scope of work.

DUTIES:
 

  • Provide oversight and coordination of operations for Amentum IT Infrastructure in Venezuela.
  • Coordinate with Amentum IT Field Services (ITFS) or designee that provides remote management, periodic onsite support.
  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and facilitating employee training.
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and legal work environment.
  • Develop personal growth opportunities for the IT Staff.
  • Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising results.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and IT operational standards.
  • Maintain, analyze, and review IT-related services subcontracts, maintenance agreements, warranties, site licenses, including managing Internet Service Provider contracts
  • Coordinate required and necessary hardware, software, and systems updates from vendors if required.
  • Facilitate, oversee, and assist with the installation, testing, maintaining, updating, and troubleshooting of all Amentum hardware, software, and communications systems products.
  • Oversee and monitor timely resolution of user service desk/help desk tickets to include service requests, problem resolution, and requests for new or replacement equipment.
  • Manage and protect company IT assets as well as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE).
  • Document, update, and maintain systems and network configurations.
  • Provide regular status reports to management and input for senior briefings.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

REQUIRED:

Minimum Acceptable Experience Level:

Five (5) to seven (7) years of management experience working in the field of Information Systems and Infrastructure Management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated analytical skills, research skills, and strong Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft SharePoint, and other Microsoft Fabric solutions.
  • Ability to act independently.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supporting contract responsibilities at an overseas facility.
  • Experience providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Education: Bachelors in Information Systems (BIS) or Equivalent Experience


Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid drivers’ license from Home of Record

Security Vetting: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain Secret Clearance.


Language Skills: Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements and to adhere and comply with safety, health, and security measures.

Medical: Successfully complete and pass a medical and dental examinations as required by Amentum and our customer for deployment to Venezuela. Must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment.
 

DESIRED:

  • Information Technology Industry Certifications from organizations such as Microsoft, Cisco CompTIA, ISC2, and similar.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Previous overseas/deployed experience is highly desirable and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions is a plus.
  • Experience working with Amentum in an OCONUS environment .
