As a Business Development leader, the Business Development Manager for the NSWC Crane Account is responsible for growing a suite of NSWC Crane Division accounts and to identify, qualify, and prosecute opportunities within assigned portfolio. Focuses on expanding the out-year pipeline through active deal development, identification, and qualification efforts to create growth potential for new capability or client sets, as well as the protection of recompetes. Competing in both incumbent and non-incumbent workstreams, thinks critically, and strategically strengthens the competitive posture of the company. Develops strategic teaming efforts and leverages strong NSWC customer and industry relationships to include NSWC Crane Division leaders, competitors, niche capability firms, and small businesses. Assists in the development, delivery, and presentation of white papers and drives technical and acquisition client call plans and other outreach efforts to qualify and inform pursuit or no-pursuit decisions. Develops, qualifies, and prosecutes a growing pipeline of opportunities to win work and generate revenue and profit in accordance with defined business targets.
Duties:
Identifies, qualifies and secures business opportunities; coordinates business generation activities; develops customized targeted sales strategies IAW the Group Strategic Plan (GSP), and Business Line strategic goals
Builds business relationships with current and potential clients
Understands client needs and offers solutions and support; answering potential client questions and follow-up call questions; pre-positions solutions to client requests for proposals (RFPs)
Collaborates with key business area leaders to secure, retain, and grow accounts
Creates informative presentations, presenting and delivering information to potential clients at client meetings and industry exhibits
Maintains a pipeline of all sales administration using Corporate Customer Resource Management Software
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of active participation within the NSWC Crane, IN business community
Active membership with the Crane Regional Defense Group or Daviess County Economic Development Corporation
8+ years of experience with strategic planning and setting business growth goals
Demonstrated ability to execute the business development function with little/no supervision
Ability to influence customers and implement strategic plans for operational efficiency and profitability
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience is required
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Secret US Government Clearance
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Accounting
Current or Previous Board membership with the Crane Regional Defense Group and/or Daviess County Economic Development Corporation
Compensation Details:
US: $135,000
