The Material Coordinator performs most aspects of technical supply management work
(e.g., receiving, inventory management, storage management, cataloging, issuing and property
utilization) related to depot, local, or other supply activities. Work usually is segregated by
commodity area or function, and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility.
Operates the Standard Ammunition and Accounting System, and utilizes manual records to
perform stock control and accounting procedures for ammunition, explosives and associated
explosive components. Work generally involves individual case problems or supply actions. This
work may require consideration of program requirements together with specific variations in or
from standardized guidelines.
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for the daily operation of SAAS System and the (SAAS-MOD) stock
account.
Maintain accounting and control for all types of ammunition used or maintained at Fort Polk.
Post all accountable vouchers to the stock record account.
Issues, turn-ins, receipts, shipments, condition codes, ammunition transfer records.
Log into TAMIS at regular intervals daily to check the status of requests (training, op load, TEST etc.).
Ensure there is a current DA 1687 on file before accepting documents in TAMIS.
Select stock based on quantities requested, package quantities, and light box quantities.
Complete AMC Form 4508 (Ammunition Transfer Record) requesting location change, lot number/SN change, stock number change, or reclassification.
Review turn-in DA Form 581 for accuracy and create DA Form 3151R for turn-in.
Maintain document register (DA Form 2064).
Ensure all accountable documents are properly controlled.
Responsible for preparation of inventory control listing and inventory count sheets for conducting monthly/quarterly/special inventories.
Prepare inventory adjustment reports, research discrepancy report shortage/overage for necessary action.
Maintain delegation of Authority-Receipt for Supply (DA1687) and Assumption of Command orders.
Maintain Ammunition Information Notice (AIN and NAR).
Review DA Form 626 for accuracy, file with DA Form 581s in unit file.
Prepare/maintain shipping document DD-1348-1A for to QASAS for clearance.
Participates in the Company Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and QA Programs.
Complies with all Company rules, policies and procedures.
Complies with all safety, environmental & quality standards & applicable COPs & DOPs.
Provides for the accountability and proper care of all GFE / CFE.
Favorably interacts with internal / external customers.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of three years’ experience in supply and warehouse operations.
Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.
Must have specific knowledge of SAAS and TAMIS systems.
Must have basic computer skills.
Must have knowledge of ammunition regulations.
Must be able to complete paperwork associated with ammunition.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to understand and use a computer workstation.
Ability to understand and use specialized software for daily operations.
Preferred Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Experience working with U.S. Army combat and tactical equipment preferred.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs with or without accommodation.
Must utilize all proper lifting procedures and practices.
Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Must be able to work at heights.
Must be able to climb in and out of vehicles of various sizes and heights
Must be able to work under pressure and strenuous conditions.
Must be able to meet short suspense dates.
Must be able to conduct work in the out-of-doors area with potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions (i.e. extreme temperatures, high humidity, rain and blowing dust).
Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of stooping; climbing; standing; and sitting for long periods of uninterrupted time.
May require shift work.
May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty including nights, weekends, and holidays.
During the usual work period, the worker may be exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable.
