The Munitions Inspection Element Supervisor is identified as a highly experienced Supervisor capable and responsible for the effective management of the assigned Element in accordance with established safety, technical, operational accountability standards and PWS contractual requirements. This position is the technical expert and advisor for the USAF Munitions Surveillance Program (MSP). Operates Theater Integrated Combat Munitions System (TICMS). Also performs surveillance inspections of munitions to determine and identify serviceability, potential hazards and possible deterioration. Ensures compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).

Principal Accountabilities

  • Manages and is responsible for all assigned personnel and equipment in the Element, ensuring maximum utilization and conservation of resources.
  • Manages the Element according to the applicable sections of AFMAN 21-200, DAFMAN 21-201 and Munitions SOP.
  • In the event of an emergency, takes necessary control and timely response actions.
  • Enforces strict adherence of all applicable directives; i.e., technical, safety, security, quality.
  • Implements timely corrective actions of all discrepancies identified during internal/external audits.
  • Develops and manages production efforts, goals and levels according to contractual requirements.
  • Inspects munitions stockpile, facilities, tools, MMHE, support vehicles and equipment to ensure serviceability and determines causes of negative performance trends.
  • Evaluates technical skills of personnel for conformance to established standards.
  • Develops production schedules and goals to meet requirements of daily timelines, special taskers, special projects and contingency support.
  • Utilizes TICMS to the maximum extent possible in all production efforts and processes.
  • Verifies that personnel complete all accountability documentation that is an integral part of production actions and submit on a timely manner to Operations Section.
  • Identifies and advises the Munitions Accountability Section Chief of limiting factors that may impact performance goals.
  • Advises Munitions Accountability Section Chief about personnel performance and all production actions, to include root causes and solutions to correct negative trends in the Element's performance.
  • Monitors the skills, proficiency of assigned personnel as it impacts production efforts.
  • Conducts sample surveillance audits of different processes in the Element.
  • Interfaces and coordinates with the deployed Munitions Flight management as needed.
  • Tracks training requirements and ensures personnel receive necessary training.
  • Ensures personnel properly utilize CTKS, special tool needs, bench stock requirements, MMHE and support equipment commensurate with production efforts.
  • Ensures that personnel accurately calculate and observe the net explosives limits of all storage and operating locations commensurate with production actions.
  • Verifies that visual inspections on lightning protection and static ground systems are performed and documented in accordance with applicable governing publications.
  • Performs entry-controller duties as required.
  • Ensures Munitions Control is informed of fire symbol, hazard marker, Risk Category or classified munitions changes that effect munitions storage and maintenance facilities.
  • May be appointed as the Senior Munitions Inspector during the incumbent's absence.
  • Works necessary hours, to include stand-by duties, to support mission requirements during peacetime and combat contingencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Works in normal office and maintenance shop or warehouse environment and may be required to work outdoors for extended periods.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have intermediate level knowledge of the USAF Supply and Tech Order systems or US service equivalent.
  • Must have intermediate level knowledge of current MIS applicable to PGM activities.
  • Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office to include as a minimum Power Point, Excel and Word programs.
  • May be required to operate material handling equipment.
  • Must possess a valid home country driver's license and ability to obtain host nation driver's license.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have a minimum seven years of experience with Military Munitions.
  • Must be capable to attend the USAF Munitions Inspector Course.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain Secret Clearance.
  • Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to prescribed procedures and as required for task being performed.
  • Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting/pushing/pulling minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Must have normal color perception and depth of vision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred USAF munitions storage, maintenance, control and inspection procedures experience.
  • Preferred TICMS, MC2, TMRS and IMDS/DPAS M&U experience for Munitions and MMHE.
  • Preferred minimum 2 years of experience as USAF Munitions Inspector and award of Special Experience Identifier (SEI) Code 836.
  • Preferred intermediate experience with PGM equipment and support vehicles.
