Job Summary: Join a hands-on, fast-paced role where you’ll operate and maintain advanced surveillance systems aboard ships. This is a great opportunity to develop technical skills, gain real-world experience, and contribute to critical shipboard operations during 6-month assignments, both at sea and in port.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Deploy and Maintain Equipment: Assist with deploying and recovering systems, perform routine maintenance, and resolve issues with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
· Operate and Monitor Systems: Stand watch in the Operations Center to operate and monitor surveillance systems, ensuring data is transmitted and processed properly.
· Troubleshooting, Documentation, and Logistics: Identify and resolve technical issues, maintain detailed logs using the WILD system, manage supplies, track inventory, and complete required reports to ensure system readiness and operational compliance.
· Collaborate and Communicate: Work as part of a team, coordinating with other technicians and supervisors, while working independently after training.
What You’ll Gain in This Role
· On-the-Job Training: Learn to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot SURTASS equipment and systems.
· Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems aboard SURTASS vessels.
· Maintain accurate maintenance logs, technical reports, and readiness documentation in accordance with Navy and program standards.
· Skill Development: Build hands-on experience in a unique, fast-paced, and highly technical environment.
· A Unique Experience: Live and work aboard a ship while contributing to critical operations in support of an important mission.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma/GED
Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance. (Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance.
A valid U.S. Passport.
Graduate of an accredited trade school or apprenticeship program; OR graduate of a U.S. Navy mechanical program; OR equivalent civilian electrical or mechanical program.

Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of:
Electrical systems
Mechanical systems
Hydraulic systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to learn technical skills, such as maintenance, troubleshooting, or equipment operations.
Strong teamwork, communication skills, and ability to work independently after training.
Experience with technical documentation, maintenance logs, or inventory tracking (e.g., WILD) is a plus.
Prior hands-on experience with general maintenance, marine systems, or working at sea is advantageous.
Compensation Details:
$60,000 - $65,000
