Job Summary:  Join a hands-on, fast-paced role where you’ll operate and maintain advanced surveillance systems aboard ships. This is a great opportunity to develop technical skills, gain real-world experience, and contribute to critical shipboard operations during 6-month assignments, both at sea and in port.

Essential Responsibilities:

· Deploy and Maintain Equipment: Assist with deploying and recovering systems, perform routine maintenance, and resolve issues with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

· Operate and Monitor Systems: Stand watch in the Operations Center to operate and monitor surveillance systems, ensuring data is transmitted and processed properly.

· Troubleshooting, Documentation, and Logistics: Identify and resolve technical issues, maintain detailed logs using the WILD system, manage supplies, track inventory, and complete required reports to ensure system readiness and operational compliance.

· Collaborate and Communicate: Work as part of a team, coordinating with other technicians and supervisors, while working independently after training.

What You’ll Gain in This Role

· On-the-Job Training: Learn to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot SURTASS equipment and systems.

· Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems aboard SURTASS vessels.

· Skill Development: Build hands-on experience in a unique, fast-paced, and highly technical environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED

• Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance. (Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance.

• A valid U.S. Passport.

• Graduate of an accredited trade school or apprenticeship program; OR graduate of a U.S. Navy mechanical program; OR equivalent civilian electrical or mechanical program.

• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of:

  • Electrical systems

  • Mechanical systems

  • Hydraulic systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to learn technical skills, such as maintenance, troubleshooting, or equipment operations.

• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and ability to work independently after training.

• Experience with technical documentation, maintenance logs, or inventory tracking (e.g., WILD) is a plus.

• Prior hands-on experience with general maintenance, marine systems, or working at sea is advantageous.
