FUNCTION: 

The workstation support technician provides support to a distributed PC/networking environment, which includes: installation, testing, repair, and troubleshooting for stand-alone PCs, PCs linked to networks, printers, and other computer peripherals. Support responsibilities include software installation and configurations. 

The technician performs technical, operational, and training support to users of workstations either by telephone, or on-site for PC desktop hardware and software packages. This includes: 

   Installing and testing workstations, printers, and other peripherals. 

   Configuring operating systems. 

   Loading shrink-wrap programs and other application software programs. 

   Troubleshooting computer problems. 

   Performing hardware and software diagnostics, coordinating repairs, resolve computer system problems. 


   Assisting the Senior System Administrator with managing and maintaining the Metrology SQL database, set-up and maintenance of the Metrology Windows Server 2012 and Active Directory, and with network design, set-up, and troubleshooting. 


  Able to develop in-house software applications using PHP or other programming languages as directed by the Commander, Kuwait Air Force Metrology Branch (KAFMB).

It is anticipated that Workstation Support Technician will be assigned as these job descriptions state and other related specific tasking details and priorities will be determined and set by the Commander, KAFMB, and communicated to the Contractor lead. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

A. An Associate’s degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of work experience installing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing workstations, installation, and troubleshooting of software and hardware. Experience in SQL Programing, Windows Server 2012, and Active Directory.
