We are seeking a skilled and experienced Power BI SME to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in creating interactive, visually compelling, and data-driven reports and dashboards using Power BI. The candidate should be able to work with various data sources, transform data, and implement advanced analytics to provide valuable insights to the business.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Data Modeling & Transformation:

    • Design, implement, and optimize complex data models using Power BI's Power Query and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).

  • Report & Dashboard Development:

    • Create visually appealing and interactive Power BI reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights to business stakeholders.

  • Data Analysis:

    • Leverage Power BI's advanced analytics features such as predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and trend analysis to identify business opportunities and challenges.

  • Data Integration:

    • Integrate data from various sources including SQL databases, Excel, and APIs.

  • Performance Optimization:

    • Optimize Power BI reports and dashboards for speed and efficiency, handling large datasets and ensuring a seamless user experience.

  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.

  • Training & Support:

    • Provide training and support to business users on Power BI features, best practices, and dashboard usage.

  • Maintain & Update Reports:

    • Regularly update and maintain existing reports and dashboards as new data becomes available or business needs evolve.

  • Compliance & Security: Ensure data governance and security policies are followed when working with sensitive or regulated data.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Intelligence, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Power BI development, including data modeling, DAX, and report/dashboard design.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance. Please note US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

  • Experience with data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and integrating data from various sources (SQL, Excel, APIs, etc.).

  • Familiarity with Power BI Service (publishing, sharing, collaboration) and Power BI Report Server is a plus.

  • Expertise in Power Query for data transformation.

  • Advanced knowledge of DAX for data modeling and calculations.

  • Experience with Power BI Service, including creating and managing workspaces, apps, and row-level security.

  • Knowledge of database management systems such as SQL Server.

  • Experience with Power Apps or Power Automate for automation tasks is a plus.

  • Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and generate business insights that drive decision-making.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance

  • Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (Power BI).

Compensation and Benefits:

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $85k-$135k annually (salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data).

$85,000 - $135,000
