Amentum acts as the Technical Advisor to PEJ Sp z o.o. (PEJ), which is the state-owned entity responsible for delivering Poland’s nuclear power programme.  The Technical Advisor’s role is that of an “Owner’s Engineer”, which is not involved directly in any NPP design or construction activity, but rather acts as an advocate for the Client, applying technical due diligence to all aspects of the process, along with supply chain and contract management support for plant and equipment vendors engaged by the Client.  The Technical Advisor fulfils this function through the delivery of engineering and technical packages of work (referred to as Service Authorisations) which require the development, approval, implementation and reporting of a diverse range of engineering and technical methods by suitably qualified and experienced team members.

The role of Project Manager is to manage the assigned multidiscipline projects within the engineering and technical programme of work through all phases, from inception to completion.

The Project Manager collaborates with other project functions.


The Project Manager is accountable for:

  • Delivery of the assigned projects on time and within budget

  • The development and implementation of project plans (resource plans, quality control plans, task specific worksheets)   

  • Update of project’s schedule

  • Preparation of weekly and monthly project reports

  • Preparation of minutes of meeting with the Client

The Project Manager is responsible for: 

  • In conjunction with Technical Leads and other team members lead the production and maintenance of project baselines (scope, cost and schedule)

  • Lead the production of proposals ad tenders in accordance with client requirements and Amentum commercial requirements

  • Proactively lead the monitoring and control of projects to ensure that it is delivered by budget and schedule

  • Provide robust financial and project reporting

  • Develop, maintain and manage project risk registers

  • Identification and management of change control

  • Proactively interact and collaborate with members of the project team

  • Engage with appropriate tools and stakeholders to proactively manage resource required to enable delivery

  • Work with supporting staff and functions to ensure the timely preparation of invoices and supporting documentation

  • Lead the focus on customer care, liaising with customer representatives and a commitment to delivering on promises and programme reporting

  • Ensure appropriate Amentum governance is applied to the project from tender through to execution and close out

  • Work in safe and sustainable manner, adhering to the highest professionals and dards and ‘doing the right thing’

  • Depending upon experience, provide Line Management for Assistant Project Manager and Administration staff, including performance review, identifying trainings needs and supporting professional and career


Requirements

  • General engineering, technical or business qualification, graduate level or equivalent 

  • Project Management experience in an engineering, technical or business project or programme environment

  • Knowledge of Project Management process and techniques

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills: ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders

  • Operating knowledge of standard Microsoft IT packages

  • Applications should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in project teams

  • Ability to obtain an SC security clearance

  • APM or PMO qualifications and a desire to progress in there

  • Experience in Earned Value Management

  • Knowledge of the project subject matter ie. Research, technical, engineering is desirable.
