Recreation Services Coordinator

Amentum is seeking a Recreation Services Coordinator to support a unique US Navy
program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Recreation Services Coordinator is responsible
for supporting all resale operations and recreational programs, ensuring continuity in
customer service, compliance with safety requirements, and seamless service delivery.
Job Responsibilities
· Assist the Recreation Services Manager with the planning, coordination, and
administration of all MWR (Morale, Welfare, and Recreation) programs and services.
· Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations for areas serving the public or
involving hazardous materials, per CNICINST 1710.3 – Chapter 1, Section 114.
· Obtain and maintain current certifi cations, including:
o Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certifi cation.
o Certifi cation as an American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Instructor.
· Profi ciently oƯiciate sports events, which include but are not limited to Soccer,
Basketball, Volleyball, Softball, and Flag Football.
· Support resale operations and assist in inventory management, supply chain
tracking, and conduct analyses to maximize eƯiciency and profi tability.
· Develop and promote recreational activities using marketing strategies to engage
military personnel and base residents.
· Maintain customer satisfaction by providing exceptional service through training
equivalent to the MWR Star Service, Achieving Extraordinary Customer Relations
(AECR) program.
· Document employee training and perform on-the-job training for new and existing
staƯ to ensure compliance with customer service and safety standards.
· Organize, schedule, and prepare recreational activities and events tailored to the
interests and motivational needs of military communities.


· Monitor the daily operation of recreational facilities, programs, and sports leagues
to ensure they run eƯiciently and meet quality standards.
· Be readily available during working hours and on-site within one hour for
contingencies or emergencies.
· Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and
level of the position.

Required Qualifi cations:
· Four-year degree from an accredited college or university with a major study in one
or more areas of appropriate fi eld of recreation
· OR three (3) years of experience in military recreational services or equivalent
civilian sector
· Minimum of fi ve (5) years of specialized experience in roles such as an NF-4 with a
Non-Appropriated Funds Instrumentality (NAFI) or a middle manager role in a
similar civilian operation.Certifi ed American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Instructor.
· Background in marketing strategies to promote recreational services.
· Profi ciency in oƯiciating sports, including Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Softball,
and Flag Football.
· Must be able to successfully complete and maintain all required training and
certifi cations, including MWR Star Service/AECR, HAZMAT, CPR, First Aid, and local
emergency procedures training, with annual recertifi cation as required.
· .
· Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple
tasks eƯectively.
· Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
· Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
· Ability to obtain country-specifi c visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign
Clearance Guide.
· Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain
compliance for the duration of deployment.
· Must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the
contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.

Preferred Qualifications


· Degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related
fi eld from an accredited college or university.
· Prior experience in MWR or military recreation programs.
· Five years of specialized experience as NF-4 within a Non-Appropriated Funds
Instrumentality (NAFI) or a similar middle-management role in civilian recreational
services.
· Proven operational expertise in managing recreational programs and facilities.
· Experience in austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States)
environments or working with multi-national workforces.

Working Environment
This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote
overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in oƯice,
industrial, warehouse, port, airfi eld, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to
high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work
schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on
operational requirements.
Physical Requirements


Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up
to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and
outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment
requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
