Amentum is looking for a Reliability Engineer to join our team!

Purpose and Scope:
Reliability Engineers are responsible for implementing and maintaining databases and analytical systems to capture and report data relating to equipment failure frequency, equipment availability, equipment downtime, and other factors affecting facility and / or plant performance.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the implementation of and maintenance of various databases, analytical systems, spreadsheets and graphics for production control programs. Monitors and analyzes equipment failure frequency, plant throughput, machine availability, process stop feeds, equipment downtime, DPE entries and aborts, and other factors affecting facility and / or plant performance.
  • Utilizes demilitarization operations knowledge/experience, collects plant operating data, site performance statistics and supporting data, (e.g. process data acquisitions and recording information, control room logs, etc.) to maintain or create databases for analyses, reporting, or updating of key project milestones.
  • Responsible for analyzing facility production information, statistics and data for trending, for use in writing reports, generating presentations, and making recommendations to improve facility availability, plant throughput capacity and factors limiting site productivity.
  • May be required to supervise the work of subordinates under the direction of a manager.
  • Performs work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees. Performs work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
  • Implements and maintains databases, analytical systems, spreadsheets and graphics for production control programs including equipment failure frequency, plant throughput, machine availability, process stop feeds, equipment downtime, DPE entries and aborts, and other factors affecting facility and / or plant performance.
  • Collects plant operating data, site performance statistics and supporting data, (e.g. process data acquisition and recording information, control room log, etc.) to create databases for special analyses and / or upcoming key project milestones.
  • Analyzes facility production information, statistics and data for trends.
  • Writes reports, generates presentations and attends meetings to evaluate and review systems processes.
  • Makes recommendations to improve facility availability, plant throughput capacity and factors limiting plant productivity.
  • Participates in and/or develops root cause analysis evaluations, as needed or assigned.
  • Interfaces with Engineering, Operations and other functional organizations to resolve problems involving production efficiency.
  • Maintains working knowledge of production indicators and site processes, policies and procedures to ensure recommended improvements are acceptable from a safety, risk and operational perspective
  • Maintains and stores appropriate records for production controls.


Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, economics or the sciences or demonstrated equivalent. 6 years experience in engineering and construction projects or operating industrial facilities in a production control position including some field experience. Background and experience in cost effectiveness analysis and plant maintenance/operations procedures. Production control experience in time and method studies, multiple line balancing and personnel tasking. Working knowledge of relevant word processing computer software applications, including experience creating, using and maintaining electronic spreadsheets (including charting) and databases.


Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.


Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must posses planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

Compensation Details:

$50,000 to $100,000
