Role Title: SEA1180 Project Manager

Role Background and Scope:

Amentum has been tasked by Defence to source a range of specialist resources to provide support for the delivery of a range of patrol vessels, specialist ships, and maritime capabilities for the Royal Australian Navy, the Australian Border Force, and partner nations. This includes:

- Delivering six Offshore Patrol Vessels for the Royal Australian Navy.
- Delivering a new sail training ship.
- Delivering twenty‑four Patrol Boats to Pacific and Indian Ocean partner nations under the Commonwealth’s Pacific Maritime Security Program.
- Delivering ten Patrol Boats for the Royal Australian Navy.
- Delivering up to eleven additional Patrol Boats for the Australian Border Force.
- Managing procurement of vessels and vessel‑like assets for Defence and other agencies.
- Supporting other tasking as directed by senior leadership.

Responsibilities: 

As the SEA1180 Project Manager you will be tasked with the provision of senior on‑site project management support to the SEA1180‑1 Offshore Patrol Vessel Project, acting as the Project Ship Manager at Henderson and HMAS Stirling. The role supports the Project Director by overseeing day‑to‑day delivery activities, stakeholder engagement/coordination and schedule monitoring, while also providing support to the SEA1788‑0 Young Endeavour Replacement Project as required. As Project Manager you will be responsible for: 

- Acting as the SEA1180-1 OPV Project Ship Manager based at Henderson and HMAS Stirling WA, to provide on the ground support to the Project Director
- Providing support to SEA1788-0 Young Endeavour Replacement Project Manager for the remainder of the project
- Contributing to project schedule reviews
- Contributing to project review meetings and other project reviews
- Stakeholder engagement including with contractors and end users

Essential Requirements:

- Tertiary qualification in Project Management or Engineering (Mechanical, Maritime etc) or a related technical/management discipline
- Relevant long-term experience in project management preferably in maritime, naval or Defence acquisition environments
- Strong background supporting ship delivery, trials, acceptance, or introduction into service.
- Demonstrated experience applying structured project management methodologies
- Solid experience managing or supporting multiple projects concurrently with the ability to prioritise efforts across programs

Desirable Requirements: 
- Formal project management certification
- Naval or Maritime background either in ADF, APS or industry will be highly advantageous

Required Security Clearance Level: NV1

Location: Henderson and HMAS Stirling WA

Weekly Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
