Reporting directly to the Program Management (PMO) team this role will see you responsible for leading and overseeing the Quality Assurance department, which encompasses the functions of Quality Assurance, Risk Management and Document Management. The role provides leadership and direction to ensure these functions effectively support program operations and that appropriate systems, processes and controls are established, maintained and continuously improved in accordance with ISO 9001 standards and organizational requirements.
Working across all program areas, the Quality Assurance Manager supports the consistent application of quality standards and requirements while providing guidance to managers and teams in managing risk, maintaining effective document controls and identifying opportunities for improvement. The role works collaboratively with program leadership and key stakeholders to strengthen processes, address areas of concern and support effective and consistent ways of working.
Responsibilities Include
Promotes a proactive approach to quality and continuous improvement, using quality performance, audit outcomes, risk information and stakeholder feedback to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Ensure Quality Assurance activities remain aligned with applicable contractual, regulatory and organizational requirements while supporting the successful delivery of program objectives
Manage a team of quality professionals in an office or project setting whilst providing technical inspiration and leadership to colleagues.
Plan and conduct research and development on complex quality projects, employing innovative approaches.
Utilize advanced knowledge to ensure successful project completion.
Ensure that products are designed and installed according to customer and company quality standards while staying within budget.
Make informed decisions using professional judgment and principles.
Oversee quality assurance and control support for assigned programs to meet quality requirements.
Lead initiatives for new systems, proposals, and quality procedures.
Conduct investigations and tests of significant complexity, reviewing processes and evaluating results.
Assess vendor capabilities to ensure they meet product/service requirements.
Specialize in specific areas of quality control, such as design, process control, or product reliability.
Offer technical consultation to engineers, technicians, and inspectors.
Act as a liaison with suppliers to establish or modify specifications for purchased items.
Develop and apply testing procedures for components from outside vendors.
Contribute to the refinement of internal quality control and reliability programs and recommend corrective actions for quality issues.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
Bachelor’s degree in quality management, business management, engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
A minimum of 8 years of experience in a relevant specialization
Lead Auditor or Auditor Certification (desirable)
Proven experience working within established quality management frameworks, including the application and maintenance of Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001 requirements.
Experience supporting or managing organizational risk management processes, including risk identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting document management and document control processes, including the development, review, approval and maintenance of controlled documentation.
Experience conducting or supporting internal audits, corrective actions and continuous improvement activities and working across multiple functional areas to support quality, risk and process improvement initiatives
Strong leadership capability to support and develop the Quality Assurance team
Ability to build effective working relationships with program leadership, functional teams and key stakeholders encompassed with excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
