We have an exciting opportunity for a Summer 2026 - Spacesuit Project Engineer Intern to join the team!
The PGS Project Engineer Intern will support engineering activities across spacesuit-related hardware development, testing, troubleshooting, and project coordination. The intern will gain hands-on experience with hardware build-up, test support, system documentation, and technical problem solving in support of PGS engineering projects.
This is a temporary role not to exceed 13 weeks.
• Perform project engineering functions supporting PGS hardware development, assembly, and maintenance
• Define, develop, procure, and build ground support and test support equipment (GSE/TSE) needed for evaluating engineering hardware
• Plan and assist in executing hardware troubleshooting to investigate mechanical or electrical issues in development hardware or test support equipment
• Develop engineering documentation including assembly procedures, test plans, detailed test procedures, and operational products
• Support test design activities including instrumentation and data acquisition selection
• Coordinate test activities and requirements with test facilities and supporting teams
• Support project teams and matrix organizations through requirements development, design, manufacturing, and testing phases
• Perform other engineering support duties as assigned
Requisition Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled at an accredited university
• Completed at least 45 credit hours
• Minimum 2.8 GPA
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineers or technical teams
Requisition Preferences:
• Enrolled in an Engineering degree program (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related)
• Prior NASA internship or relevant engineering experience

Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
