Amentum is currently searching for a Supervising Structural Engineer 4 to work in our Englewood, CO office. This position will perform a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, manufacture, test, installation, operations, and maintenance of electronic equipment and systems and generally as a member of a design, analysis, or review team.


Essential Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate the discipline's engineering with that of other disciplines.

2. Maintain records, files and other documents pertaining to the discipline.

3. Assume responsibility for ensuring that engineering documents comply with applicable state laws/regulations, including affixing registered engineer seal when required.

4. Assign preparers and checkers for discipline specifications and coordinates review of external specifications.

5. Establish schedules and budgets to meet project requirements and obtains approval.

6. Maintain technical coordination with the Principal Engineer to ensure adherence to industry codes, regulatory requirements and sound engineering practices.

7. Directs the preparation and submits periodic reports and forecasts on the status of the discipline.

8. Comply with state requirements for continuing education, maintains and obtains licenses as requested.

9. Continually upgrade technical knowledge and capabilities and pursues additional coursework and training.

10. Advise the Project Engineering Manager regarding status of assignment(s) with respect to schedule, budgets, delays and adverse problems.

11. Work closely with Chief Discipline Engineers, Principal Engineers and Project Engineering Managers on employees' evaluations and promotions and the overall technical improvement of the group.

12. Ensure quality, quantity and completeness of the assigned engineering tasks.

13. Responsible for performance management and mentoring.

14. Develop training programs within area of technical expertise and conducts training sessions.

Minimum Requirements:

- US Citizen

- Bachelors degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis (or equivalent education).

- 10+ years of professional experience with 3 years of supervisory experience.

- Professional Engineering License required.

- Advanced knowledge of business development concepts and leads the project proposal process.

- Advanced knowledge and leads the development of manpower, man-hour, and labor cost requirements for a project and can monitor the effect of these on budget limitations.

-  Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.

- Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

- Position may require travel.

- In depth knowledge of industry codes and standards including AISC 360, ASCE 7, IBC, and ACI 318

- In-depth knowledge and expertise in STAAD.Pro modeling, analysis, design, and post processing.

- In-depth knowledge and expertise in MathCad, Excel, and Word

- Fully understands the process of preparing and checking calculations, as well as, approval, revision, retention, and storage of project calculations

- Fully understands drawing production and checking, as well as, approval, revision, retention, and storage of engineering drawings

Preferred Qualifications:

- Structural Engineer (SE) license

- Master of Science degree in structural engineering.

- Government or nuclear experience, i.e., DOD, DOE, NR.

- IN depth knowledge of AISC Seismic Design Provisions, i.e., AISC 341.

- Basic knowledge of nuclear facility design codes including ACI 349, AISC - N690, ASCE 43, and DOE-STD-1020.

- Working knowledge of seismic response spectrum analysis.

- Working knowledge of ANSYS analysis software.

Compensation & Benefits

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $146K - $193K (Annually) (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
