Amentum is actively seeking a Submarine Auxiliaries Engineering Technician VI, to work in SWRMC Code 270 at Naval Base, Point Loma, San Diego, CA.   This is a contingent fill.

Essential Responsibilities (at least 2-3):

  • Support Fleet Technical Assistance (FTA) visits to submarine both inport and at sea.

  • Develop Troubleshooting plans for submarine hydraulic controllers and piping systems. 

  • Verify compliance with systems engineering principles, integration approaches, and accepted Department of the Navy maintenance program fundamentals. 

  • Support engineering evaluations of hydraulic and freshwater control systems onboard submarines.

  • Review non-standard test procedures that are called out in a work specification as required and verify that individual work to test relationships are accurately captured in the ITP. 

  • Coordinate with shipboard and waterfront personnel to effect repairs to subject systems.  Will require working onboard ships at times.

  • Conduct maintenance of shipboard hydraulic systems and controllers onboard US NAVY submarines.

  • Conduct repair and maintenance of submarine safety, diving, auxiliary and atmospheric control systems (S&D Hydraulics, Ships Service Hydraulics, HP air, LP Air, CO-H2 Burners, CO2 Scrubbers, external hydraulics, AEOG, FW systems, Sanitary System, Diesel Engine and supporting systems,)

  • Conduct On-the-job training with ships force during visits.

  • Prepare all required products including certification PowerPoint, CHENG certification memos, documentation in Navy-provided time systems, and other supporting documents.

Minimum Requirements (at least 2-3):

  • Must have SECRET clearance

  • Must be physically able to climb, crawl, and transit through the spaces of a submarine.

  • Must have minimum 13 years of technical experience with submarine auxiliary systems maintenance, troubleshooting, and the associated documentation required for certification. 

  • Must be a self-starter.

  • Travel required: 10%

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Prior Machinist Mate LPO/LCPO of a Submarine Auxiliary Division (E-6 or above).

  • Prior experience working in SWRMC or MARMC Code 270 as an Auxiliaries Engineering Technician.

  • Certified to work on AEOG and experience with SUBSAFE systems.

       

Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits:

This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.

       

Compensation Details:

$48.13 - 56.13
