Our NORAD Operations Group
Selected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems to support the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC) Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II).
Since 2020, through NISSC II, has provided:
- Operations, maintenance, and Sustainment of current and legacy systems for the surveillance and cataloging of manmade objects in space.
- Mitigation of orbital conflicts.
- Threat warnings and control from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems for threat activities.
- Operations and maintenance of classified communications.
- Software development and integration.
NISSC II supports the classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability and legacy space C2 systems located at:
- Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado
- Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado
- Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska
- Vandenberg Space Force Base, California
- Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the world
Description of Duties:
The System Support Manger supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC) Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will:
- Have Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of system support engineers and administrators; establish performance expectations and conduct annual reviews.
- Operational Oversight: Manage daily support operations, including ticket queues, escalations, and workload distribution.
- Design Solutions: Develop and recommend new systems or upgrades to existing systems based on organizational needs and technological advancements.
- Have Cross‑Team Collaboration: Work closely with peer team leads (network, cybersecurity, application support) to ensure alignment, timely delivery of new requirements, and coordinated issue resolution.
- Have Vendor Coordination: Work with external vendors on system issues, maintenance, and service contracts.
- Process Improve: Develop and refine support processes, documentation, and workflows to increase efficiency and reduce recurring issues.
- Consult: Collaborate closely with management and stakeholders to understand business goals and translate them into technical requirements.
- Implement: Oversee the installation and configuration of new systems, ensuring they meet specified requirements and integrate smoothly into the existing infrastructure.
- Test and Troubleshoot: Coordinate periodic system testing to ensure functionality, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective measures as necessary.
- Document and Train: Ensure team members receive ongoing training on tools, technologies, and best practices.
- Research and Develop: Stay updated on emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the organization’s operations.
This position is expected to pay $120,000-$140,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
This position will be filled and work onsite at Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado

Basic Requirements:
- Certification Requirements: IAT Level II or higher.
- Clearance: TS with SCI eligibility.
- 6 years or more of general work experience
- 2..5 years or more of directly related experience
- Experience with trouble‑ticket systems such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or similar platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying technical information to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively with IT teams, government personnel, military staff, and other departments to achieve organizational goals.
- Experience with networking and system administrator duties, Group Policy configuration and Active Directory management.
- Ability to oversee the Installation, configuration and management of requested IT software technologies.
Desired Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of hyper converged infrastructure platforms, hardware architecture and network design.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) Endpoint Protection tools, RMF or Zero Trust principles. Including scanning and remediation of critical findings.
- Ability to lead system upgrades, migrations, and process‑improvement initiatives.
- Experience designing or executing DR plans, failover strategies, and continuity-of-operations procedures.
- Ability to automate system tasks using PowerShell, Bash or Python
- Advanced knowledge of desktop Infrastructure management, user profile management and Windows and Linux server administration.
- Practical knowledge of VoIP systems and Comply-to-Connect applications, including configuration and management.
- Ability to produce clear SOPs, architecture diagrams, and operational reports.
- Extensive background in system administration, troubleshooting methodologies, enterprise services, and monitoring platforms.

Compensation Details:
$120,000-$140,000
