Role Title: Systems Engineering Test and Evaluation Lead

Background and Scope: 

Amentum has been tasked by Defence to source a range of specialist resources to provide support for the delivery of a range of patrol vessels, specialist ships, and maritime capabilities for the Royal Australian Navy, the Australian Border Force, and partner nations. This includes:

- Delivering six Offshore Patrol Vessels for the Royal Australian Navy.
- Delivering a new sail training ship.
- Delivering twenty‑four Patrol Boats to Pacific and Indian Ocean partner nations under the Commonwealth’s Pacific Maritime Security Program.
- Delivering ten Patrol Boats for the Royal Australian Navy.
- Delivering up to eleven additional Patrol Boats for the Australian Border Force.
- Managing procurement of vessels and vessel‑like assets for Defence and other agencies.
- Supporting other tasking as directed by senior leadership.

Responsibilities: 

The Systems Engineering Test and Evaluation Lead will support Defence by leading Commonwealth Acceptance Test & Evaluation for Naval patrol and specialist ship acquisitions, ensuring requirements are verified and validated with defensible evidence, risks are understood and mitigated, and capabilities meet acceptance criteria and are fit for service.


Responsibilities include:

- Coordinate the Commonwealth assurance of the Acceptance Test and Evaluation effort for capabilities under acquisition
- Maintain traceability and evidence of requirement verification within relational database systems (DOORS)
- Document any failures and non-conformances during the validation phase of the project and coordinate remediation plans to meet the specified requirements;
- Conduct and/or assist risk assessments including, the identification and tracking of major risks;
- Conduct reviews of engineering change proposals and contract deliverables.

Essential Requirements:

- Holds Degree qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Naval Architecture, Software or related engineering discipline
- Demonstrated long term relevant engineering & Test & Evaluation (T&E) experience
- Proven experience in supporting complex Defence maritime acquisitions programs
- Strong background in developing and maintaining T&E strategies and acceptance evidence models, planning harbour/sea trials, testing readiness, and data review gates for each platform, aligned to capability risks. 
-  Conversant in conducting technical risk reviews that shape T&E priorities, maintaining T&E risk registers and advising governance on residual risk at acceptance
- Ability to ensure requirements are mapped to a verification method, planned test event, result and acceptance certificate and maintain single source evidence baselines.

Desirable Requirements:

- Formal T & E competency training or equivalent experience
- A working knowledge of ASDEFCON templates and Defence contracting artefacts for embedding T & E deliverables and acceptance criteria

Weekly Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
