Role: Technical Assessor

Description:
Purpose 

To provide technical assessment, supportability analysis, and data management services in support of systems under management, ensuring technical information, configuration records, and supportability data remain accurate, compliant and aligned with Defence engineering and sustainment requirements. 

The role supports engineering change activities, technical data management, logistics support analysis, sparing analysis, and ERP transition activities that contribute to engineering assurance, system baseline integrity, seaworthiness and operational availability. 

Scope of Tasking 

The Technical Assessor will deliver technical assessment and support analysis services across sustainment and engineering change activities. Working closely with engineering, logistics, commercial and industry stakeholders, the role will review, validate, and maintain technical and supportability information required to support effective lifecycle management and sustainment outcomes. 

The position contributes to maintaining system baselines, configuration integrity, engineering assurance requirements, and Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO) obligations through the assessment of engineering and sustainment data, supportability analysis, and management of technical records. The role also supports Defence ERP transition activities through data governance, validation, and migration support activities. 

Key Responsibilities 

Conduct technical assessments associated with engineering change activities, identifying impacts to system configuration, supportability, and sustainment outcomes. 

Support Below Level of Interest (BLI) Management Process activities and associated technical assessments. 

Review, validate and maintain technical data, logistics data, supportability information and associated engineering records. 

Assess engineering change documentation and technical information to support baseline integrity and configuration control. 

Conduct ad hoc Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) to support engineering and sustainment decision-making. 

Support sparing analysis activities through review of inventory requirements, supportability data, maintenance demands, and sustainment needs. 

Support ERP transition activities through data preparation, validation, cleansing, reconciliation and migration support. 

Liaise with Defence personnel, industry partners, and internal stakeholders to obtain, validate, and clarify technical, engineering, and supportability information. 

Prepare technical assessments, reports, recommendations, and supporting analysis documentation. 

Maintain technical, logistics, and configuration-related records in accordance with Defence governance requirements and approved processes. 

Support identification, investigation, and resolution of technical data quality issues, configuration discrepancies, and supportability concerns. 

Contribute to engineering assurance activities through the review and assessment of technical information supporting engineering changes and sustainment programs. 

Support maintenance of functional and product baselines through accurate management of technical and configuration information. 

Assist with the assessment of supportability impacts arising from engineering changes and system modifications. 

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives associated with technical assessment, data governance, supportability analysis, and configuration management practices.

Reviewed and validated technical, logistics, and supportability data. 

Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) outputs and recommendations.

Technical records, registers, and data quality assessments. 

Stakeholder engagement and technical coordination outputs. 

Key Outcomes 

Technical and supportability information is accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with Defence governance requirements. 

Engineering change activities are supported through effective assessment of technical, configuration, and sustainment impacts. 

Configuration and baseline integrity are maintained through robust technical data management practices. 

Supportability risks and deficiencies are identified, assessed, and addressed in a timely manner. 

Logistics Support Analysis and sparing assessments provide informed recommendations supporting sustainment decision-making. 

ERP transition activities are successfully supported through effective data validation and governance. 

Technical records remain auditable, traceable, and aligned with approved Defence processes. 

Engineering assurance activities support seaworthiness, operational availability, and sustainment outcomes
