Looking for a position to continue supporting the world’s finest submarine fleet? Amentum is seeking Submarine Acoustics/AN/BQQ-10 Technicians to provide technical support in the troubleshooting, repair, and upgrade onboard naval submarines. The position will be located at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC), Norfolk, VA.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide technical evaluation and perform the required corrective actions for Submarine Acoustic systems casualties in accordance with the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual and all other applicable Navy Maintenance Procedures
Draft Technical Assistance Visit reports upon completion of corrective actions
Assist in the disassembly, reassembly, installation and testing of the BQQ-10 systems onboard all classes of submarines
Provide support to engineering and design staff in a variety of engineering tasks in the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications
Direct on-site customer interface for equipment/systems installation, testing, survey, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed
Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, and system specifications and test procedures
Provide technical data and evaluation for components, equipment, and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout and contract requirements
Serve as senior/lead technician and assist in the training of other technicians
Perform other tasks as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Vocational/technical training beyond high school and at least ten (10) years of job-related experience or equivalent
Specialized Experience: Six (6) years of full-time engineering experience onboard submarines in the operation, maintenance, installation, test, or repair of SWFTS systems and/or weapons handling equipment.
Experience in evaluating the material condition of ship systems and implementing corrective action.
General Experience: Ten (10) years of full-time technical experience in the design, installation, test, or repair of electronics systems and equipment.
Active DoD secret clearance
U.S. citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience supporting the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC)
Compensation Details:
$21-$24
