Amentum is seeking a Director, Business Development who will lead/support the Strategic Business Unit's (SBU's) business development efforts, in the DOE and NNSA tier 2 market.

Essential Responsibilities:
Lead business development efforts; coordinating workloads, priorities, and schedules to ensure timely and effective completion of work; and monitoring and evaluating staff performance. In conjunction with the Strategic Business Enterprises (SBEs) General Managers, and others inside and outside the organization, develop business development objectives, strategies, and plans for the SBU/SBE(s). Participate in planning for future development and growth of the SBU. Prepares SBU/SBE business development plans and presents such plans for review and approval at the SBE, SBU and/or corporate levels. Explore, research, and recommend teaming agreements, joint ventures, acquisitions, and/or sale(s) of assets. Conduct long-range planning aimed at the development of new business targets and proposals. Develop and implements effective business development campaigns to obtain new sales or increased sales with current customers. Maintain and develop an effective list of business development contacts. Ensure the effective and efficient operation of the proposal office and ensures that business development responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities are defined and understood throughout the SBU. Participates in the proposal preparation process. Defines and develops proposal strategies, themes, discriminators, and format. Identifies cost, resource, and schedule requirements. Develops and maintains a comprehensive database on competitors and potential teaming partners including capabilities, cost information and business strategies. Track, monitor and report on submitted and pending bids and approaching business opportunities. Appraises and evaluates lost bids and develops and recommends ways to improve the SBU's win rate. Report on business development results, issues, and concerns. Represent the organization in its relationship with customers, teaming partners, competitors, government agencies, professional affiliations, and community organizations. Ensure that all business development activities are carried out in compliance with internal policies and practices, laws, and regulations.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Bachelor's degree in related field; 15 years of progressive business development experience; and excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Position requires a thorough understanding of government contracting/customers and the proposal process. Must be articulate with executive presence, creative and forward-looking, clear thinker and decision-maker, change agent, and have a proven track record of continuous business development activities. Master's degree preferred. The position requires travel. The position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

       

Compensation Details:

$100,000-$160,000

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
