Amentum is seeking a dynamic SAFER System & Business Management Support Specialist to provide critical business management, administrative, and operational support within the R&D Safety Analysis and Review System (SARS) group at the Department of Energy's (DOE) National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). This pivotal role ensures seamless operation, maintenance, and user support for the SAFER system, directly contributing to the efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance of R&D initiatives across multiple NETL sites.

You will be the central expert for SAFER system administration and user assistance, leveraging its Microsoft Power Platform foundation within the secure Microsoft Government Community Cloud (GCC) environment. Your expertise will streamline business processes, manage system integrity, provide essential administrative support, and transform raw data into actionable insights. This role demands high organization and timely responsiveness. You will report to the R&D SARS Supervisor and collaborate closely with federal and contract researchers, site technicians, engineers, and ES&H professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • SAFER System Expertise: Administer and provide advanced user support for the SAFER system, including maintenance, modifications (e.g., notifications, user accounts, workflows), and prompt error resolution. Ensure precise data capture and maintain the electronic R&D SARS file.
  • Business Operations & Administrative Management: Manage essential administrative functions for the SARS group, including ordering and distributing PPE and lab coats.  Assist with general R&D maintenance and ad-hoc tasks as required.
  • Data-Driven Optimization: Utilize Power BI to develop comprehensive reports and interactive dashboards for SAFER system metrics, user support trends, and compliance data. Apply SQL and data modeling to generate insights, measure processes, and support strategic decision-making. Develop custom solutions with Microsoft Power Apps to automate workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Documentation & Compliance Support: Assist in maintaining document control and management for the SAFER system and R&D processes, ensuring adherence to NETL policies and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field or equivalent work experience and zero to two years of job-related experience or equivalent.

Other requirements

  • Required to obtain the following certifications within the first 60 days: Microsoft  Power Platform Fundamentals Certification (PL-900), Power BI Data Analysist Associate Certification (PL-300)  and Microsoft Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate Certification/Microsoft Power Platform Developer Associate (PL-200/PL-400).  Equivalent certification may be substituted at manager’s discretion.

Compensation Details:

$65,000+
