The Commissary Material Coordinator Specialist is responsible for managing the flow of 

materials and supplies within the DFAC. This role involves ordering, receiving, and distributing materials, ensuring that production processes run smoothly. The position demands attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and proficiency in inventory management systems. This position is reserved for Bahamian citizens only. Must be a citizen of the Bahamas.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform accurate data entry.
  • Oversee the flow of products: Receipt of products into commissary, label production, storage, transfer, receipt of products into main dining and ERRP outlets.
  • Perform scheduled cycle counts on assigned and monitor key performance indicators and goals set for the commissary as duties and responsibilities are conducted.
  • Diligently use established internal processes that track products throughout the product’s life cycle.
  • Adhere to and maintain the commissary organizational scheme so that materials can be quickly located, retrieved, and inventoried by ensuring products are stored in a safe and stable fashion and in their assigned locations.
  • Process incoming materials and handle discrepancies by commissary inventory policies and procedures: check quality, condition, expiration date, and quantity to ensure vendors are providing products ordered.
  • Provide excellent customer service by developing strong working relationships with co-workers, and on-site customers.
  • Compile operational data and complete assigned monthly reports.
  • Collaborate with manager to forecast inventory needs and figure out the best channels to meet customer demand.
  • Collaborate with manager to develop, maintain, and update processes, policies and procedures as needed.
  • Act as Safety coordinator and monitor areas for safety hazards; report any discrepancies and call in work requests through MAXIMO Be ready and willing to assist co-workers as situations arise.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide timely, empathetic assistance that puts the customers at the forefront.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 plus years related experience.  
  • Able to read, follow, and execute standardized recipes.
  • Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures.
  • Able to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Serve Safe Certification or equivalent.
  • Ability to do the following for extended periods of time: stoop, bend, kneel, reach, twist, and carry.
  • Ability to stand 8-10 hrs. per day.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment, and have flexibility to move from one task to the next or work multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • PC literate with excellent data-entry skills and a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, a certified Excel Microsoft Specialist preferred.
  • Willingness to learn and seek out new features and updates that increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Excellent time-management, oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift, move, or carry a minimum of 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Monitoring food inventory, ordering new ingredients and supplies as needed, and checking for the freshness of food items 2+ yrs. experience in warehousing in the restaurant industry.

       

Compensation Details:

$9.75
