Amentum is seeking a Facility Lead, Electrical to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia.

The Facility Lead, Electrical will be responsible for the maintenance and oversight of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring they remain in optimal condition and operate within established safety and performance standards.

Job Responsibilities:
•    Oversee the maintenance and repair of all facilities, systems, and electrical equipment as identified in the technical sub-annex, ensuring they are maintained to a standard that prevents deterioration beyond normal wear and tear.
•    Inspect, evaluate, and assess the condition of electrical systems and equipment to ensure operational readiness and compliance with safety, performance, and government regulations.
•    Identify deficiencies and implement timely corrective actions to maintain the full life expectancy of electrical facilities, systems, and equipment.
•    Lead a team of electrical technicians, providing guidance and oversight for electrical maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and repairs.
•    Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for electrical systems to ensure continuous and reliable operation.
•    Coordinate with other departments, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of electrical maintenance activities into facility operations.
•    Monitor and manage electrical system performance metrics, ensuring compliance with contract standards and government regulations.
•    Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
•    Ensure all electrical systems comply with applicable codes, standards, and best practices, including relevant safety regulations and procedures.
•    Provide training and support for team members to ensure adherence to safety protocols and promote professional development.
•    Respond to electrical system emergencies and resolve issues promptly to minimize disruptions to operations.
•    Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and quality of facility and electrical system maintenance programs.
•    Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.

Required Qualifications
•    5-7 years of experience working in electrical maintenance and repair, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
•    Licensed as a Journeyman or Master Electrician or equivalent certification.
•    High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in electrical systems or related fields are highly preferred.
•    Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for industrial and commercial facilities.
•    Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and best practices for electrical equipment.
•    Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings for electrical systems.
•    Excellent leadership and organizational skills to manage teams and prioritize maintenance schedules.
•    Strong knowledge of safety regulations, codes, and standards applicable to electrical systems and facility maintenance (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, IEEE).
•    Proficiency in using CMMS or other maintenance and work order systems to track and report maintenance activities.
•    Effective communication skills with the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
•    Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
•    Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. 

Employees must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.
Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.
 


Preferred Qualifications:
•    Prior experience in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce is preferred.
•    Valid country driver’s license and passport.
•    Prior experience maintaining electrical systems in a government or military facility.
•    Advanced knowledge of electrical systems for large-scale facilities, including HVAC, emergency power systems, and lighting.
•    Demonstrated experience leading teams in high-paced operational environments.

Working Environment
This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements. 
 
Physical Requirements
Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
