Amentum are seeking a Fire Alarm Systems Technician as a key member of a multi-skilled team to safely and effectively maintain facility infrastructure and critical systems at OASIS. This role provides a professional service in the execution of technical repair and maintenance of all assigned facility fire alarm equipment. This includes elements of planning, organization, coordination, scheduling and resource management associated with the day-to-day maintenance of the facility's fire alarm systems.
You will primarily be responsible for the efficient and timely completion of fire system maintenance tasks, identification of deficiencies and repairs as required and operating within a small team of technicians, you will be expected to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, supporting the implementation of initiatives and technical advancement. This role will suit individuals that are able to think on their feet, respond to changes in assignments based on site needs and complete assigned tasks to a high standard whilst working closely with the Facilities Operations Team, other Facilities Maintainers and OASIS departments to enable reliable, consistent and effective maintenance and operation of facility systems.
Responsibilities
Inspection, testing and maintenance of fire systems and associated infrastructure in accordance with applicable standards
Repairs and installation of associated fire systems and infrastructure.
Programming of Notifier system
Work with operational and maintenance personnel to coordinate life safety system impairments as required for repairs, maintenance and new installations.
Maintain a complete and current working understanding of all relevant facilities infrastructure, equipment and systems.
Inspection of fire extinguishers
Instructing and training of site incident response personnel in the operation of the life safety systems as it applies to their duties.
Any other reasonable duties as requested.
Essential Requirements
NICET II or III – Fire Alarm Systems
Strong understanding of Work Health Safety (WHS) Act, and EHS policies & procedures
Demonstrated understanding and experience working within Facility Maintenance or similar technical environment
Strong understanding and knowledge of technical terminology relating to Electrical infrastructure and electronic equipment
Strong understanding of facilities, equipment and functionality
Strong understanding of facilities O&M requirements
Strong understanding of equipment maintenance requirements (preventive, predictive, & corrective)
Desirable Qualifications
NICET I or II - Fire Special Hazards
NICET I or II - Inspection and Testing of Water Based Systems
Experience with Notifier systems
Trade qualification
Enterprise Resource Planning experience. (SAP, Archibus etc.)
Microsoft Office Suite experience
EXPERIENCE
2 years’ experience in a similar role
Experience with diverse range of fire systems and suppression equipment highly regarded
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Personnel are required to be medically fit to work and safely complete all physical tasks associated with the role in which they are employed. This includes but is not limited to being able to carry and control moderate to heavy loads and being able to safely traverse and access maintenance environments which may be uneven or cramped.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT
It is a condition of employment that employees obtain and retain the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance applicable to each role. US employees will require a TS/SCI clearance with poly.
STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIREMENTS
All personnel assigned to work at shall be:
At least 18 years of age.
Able to fluently read, write and speak English
EHS REQUIREMENT
All OASIS personnel are responsible for understanding and complying with all site's environmental, health and safety requirements. While OASIS is responsible for providing a safe workplace and is responsible for ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Handbook, each person is responsible for:
Completing work tasks in a safe manner
Reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to their supervisor and/or OASIS PMO/EHS Manager
Continuous adherence to the environmental, health and safety procedures outlined in the Handbook during the performance of their work
Red-Carding a Job - Employee right and responsibility to “STOP WORK” if a job is unsafe or possess a danger to the environment.
Compensation Details:
US: $110,000 - $120,000
