About the Opportunity
Amentum are looking for an expert in Capital Cost Estimating with full EPC delivery experience to lead on a double digit Billion $ Programme. The successful candidate will be passionate about Estimating and have a strong technical capability as well as a proven track record of leading Estimating teams on Mega Projects. Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
Develop and implement Estimating standards/ requirements, plans and strategies, ensuring alignment with industry standards and client requirements.
Implement rigorous review and approval processes for all estimates.
Lead and mentor a team of estimators, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all estimating matters with internal and external stakeholders.
Estimating & Cost Management
Oversee the preparation of Class 1–5 estimates throughout project lifecycles and to support Business cases and capital raises.
Full ownership of the Basis of Estimate and all Estimates produced on the Programme
Ensure estimates reflect current market conditions, project scope, schedule, and risk profile.
Validate and benchmark estimates against historical data and industry norms.
Present estimates and cost analysis to executive leadership, clients, and partners.
Collaborate with procurement and contracts teams to ensure alignment between estimates and bid evaluations.
Integrate risk analysis and contingency planning into estimates.
Where necessary, develop independent estimates to provide Contract ROs the information to challenge the supplier offer. Where necessary, provide support the contract RO to challenge and negotiate a more appropriate value.
Here's What You'll Need
Certification by Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) or the International Cost Engineering Council (ICEC) or equivalent
Experience in TIC/ CAPEX Estimating
Demonstrable competence in the use of estimating software
Access to cost reference information norms from a wide range of industries
