About the Opportunity
The Decommissioning Alliance (TDA) is a strategic partnership, operating within the DNWP framework and delivering critical decommissioning work at Sellafield, including the UK’s most challenging Legacy Ponds facilities.
The Role
TDA now have an exciting opportunity for a Site Safety Advisor.
The Site Safety Advisor will be responsible for implementing and overseeing safety programs, policies, and procedures within Legacy Ponds. This role involves collaborating closely with project teams, client teams, and sub- contractors, to ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, mitigate risks, and promote a safe working environment for all personnel on site.
As a Site Safety Advisor some of your responsibilities could include:
Providing the Project Team with competent advice on current HSE legislation applicable to the activities, any hazards present relevant to the scope of works
Working effectively with the Project Team in establishing and implementing effective Risk Assessment and HSE planning
Actively challenging and reporting any unsafe actions and unsafe conditions.
Ensuring effective HSE inductions and relevant HSE training is undertaken and records maintained in a retrievable manner
Ensuring near miss and improvement observation reporting is carried out and maintained
Delivering suitable safety training programmes for all project personnel (including routine project inductions, toolbox talks and topic specific presentations).
Maintaining a visual presence on site and assist with coaching and mentoring of project personnel to ensure continuous improvements are made.
As a Site Safety Advisor you will already have:
Grad IOSH status or actively working towards professional IOSH membership
Experience of working within the nuclear or another regulated Industry
NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
Ability to prepare clear, concise safety documentation and technical reports, with a good standard of written and verbal communication.
