Amentum is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to support the Modernization business line. The HRBP will provide timely, effective HR services and serve as a strategic partner to Program Managers and leadership within the Modernization portfolio. This role is supported remotely, with attention to all time zones, to ensure consistent and timely support.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Program Managers and leaders to foster an inclusive, high‑performance culture and support workforce development.
  • Implement and provide clear understanding of HR policies and best practices, drive organizational change, and serve as an advocate for business needs.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and Operations to assess staffing needs with timely creation of job requisitions and job offers to ensure an efficient hire-to-onboarding process.
  • Advise managers and employees on performance management, employee relations, communications, training, and interpretation of employment laws and company policies.
  • Participate in union negotiations when applicable and provide timely oversight of union deductions and benefit participation initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and recommend actions to strengthen employee engagement and address workforce concerns.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of employment laws to minimize risk and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Amentum policies and procedures and communicate its intents clearly to managers and employees to minimize risk and ensure compliance
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the Service Contract Act (SCA) and Collective Bargaining Agreements/Unions to include CBA and FAR related laws, benefits and compliance, and work closely with payroll on associated changes
  • Maintain a good understanding of OCONUS International Assignment Agreements,  international labor laws, benefits, etc.
  • Work closely with Program Management and Talent Acquisition to set up and facilitate job openings, backfills, and job offers,
  • Maintain timely oversight of Workday requirements to ensure accurate entry of information and timely I-9/onboarding requirements.
  • Successful experience with employee and management relations and investigation skills.
  • Have a good understanding of all HR and payroll processes to better assist leadership and employees with inquiries.
  • Assess training needs and facilitate and/or coordinate non‑operational training as requested by the program.
  • Lead group presentations on company policies, processes, and recurring programs such as orientation and benefits enrollment.
  • Support program start‑up and contract win activities, including communicating basic requirements, timely program organization setup, communications, briefings, onboarding, coordination with leadership, contracts, pricing, and functional teams, to pursue time-sensitive system setup.
  • Operate with minimal supervision and build strong relationships across all levels of the organization. Demonstrate effective communication, collaboration, facilitation, analytical ability, and sound judgment.
  • Proactively research labor laws and regulations and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Demonstrate adaptability, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to lead and manage organizational change.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and 5+ years or more years of hands‑on human resources experience.
  • Experience providing HR leadership to a diverse workforce and management team.
  • Knowledge of HR disciplines including recruiting, talent management, benefits, compensation, employee relations, training, and performance management.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Good understanding of international labor laws associated with program related contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of CBA/union and Service Contract Act (CBA) processes and laws.
  • Strong written communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Ability to multi-task and communicate requirements with urgency in a fast-moving environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • PHR or SHRM‑CP certification.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint and Workday HRIS.
  • Prior experience in government contracting.
  • Active Secret clearance.

Compensation & Benefits

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $80K - $90K (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Compensation Details:

$80,000 - $90,000
