Purpose and Impact:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Program Manager to support our government contracting programs. In this role, you will assist senior program managers in the successful planning, execution, and delivery of contracts with federal agencies. You will gain valuable experience in contract compliance, program performance tracking, stakeholder coordination, and the full government contracting lifecycle — from proposal support through contract closeout. This is an ideal position for someone looking to build a long-term career in federal contracting and program management.

Work Schedule: (shift hours and days of the week) Be willing to travel to nearby customer sites 2-3 times a week or when necessary to complete taskings, . 

Essential Responsibilities: (describe the day-to-day)

•  Support day-to-day program management activities for active government contracts and task orders.

•  Assist in developing and maintaining program documentation, including Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Program Management Plans, risk registers, and monthly status reports.

•  Track program performance against cost, schedule, technical, and quality metrics; help prepare Contract Performance Reports and briefings for government Contracting Officers and Technical Representatives (COTRs).

•  Monitor contract compliance with FAR, DFARS, agency-specific regulations, and contract terms & conditions.

•  Coordinate with cross-functional teams including technical leads, finance, contracts administrators, subcontractors, and quality assurance.

•  Support budget tracking, funding execution, invoice processing, and financial forecasting.

•  Participate in program reviews, Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings, Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs), and customer meetings.

•  Contribute to proposal development efforts, including writing past performance volumes, management approaches, and staffing plans.

•  Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with government contracting officers, program managers, innovation advocates, and industry partners. Represent the organization at industry events, OT summits, and government-industry days.

•  Help manage subcontractor performance and ensure timely delivery of contract deliverables (CDRLs/SDRLs).

•  Maintain accurate records in government systems and internal tools.

•  Performance Tracking: Measure the impact of innovation initiatives on win rates, contract value, and delivery outcomes. Provide regular reports and recommendations to leadership.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

Education:

•  Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Science, Information Technology, or a related field required.

•  Master’s degree or PMP/CAPM certification preferred.

Experience:

•  3-5 years of experience in program/project coordination, preferably supporting federal government contracts.

•  Exposure to government contracting environment (prime or subcontractor) is highly desirable.

•  Internship or entry-level experience in consulting, defense, or federal services is a plus.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

•  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills — ability to draft professional emails, reports, and briefings.

•  Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).

•  Basic understanding of project management principles and government contracting processes.

•  Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with changing priorities.

Security Requirements:

•  Must be a U.S. Citizen.

•  TS/SCI (Ability and willingness to take and pass a CI poly)

Security Clearance Required:  TS/SCI (Ability and willingness to obtain a poly)

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Minimum Years of Experience: 3-5 years as a Program Manager

Preferred Qualifications: AI if applicable to your program

•  Familiarity with government contracting vehicles (IDIQ, GWAC, GSA Schedules, Blanket Purchase Agreements).

•  Knowledge of risk management and quality management processes.

•  Experience with tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, Jira.

•  PMP, CAPM, or DAWIA certifications.

•  Understanding of federal acquisition regulations (FAR/DFARS) and contract types (Firm-Fixed-Price, Cost-Reimbursable, Time & Materials).

       

Compensation Details:

$200,000
