The Logistics Specialist is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of supply, stock control, and distribution services to support operations at our sites in Alice Springs Australia. This role ensures the accurate handling, storage, and movement of inventory and materials across multiple warehouse locations in accordance with established procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include receiving and issuing goods, maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting procurement and disposal activities, and assisting with warehouse organization and logistics planning. The Logistics Specialist collaborates with internal teams, external contractors, and suppliers to support the smooth delivery of logistics operations.
Working in a dynamic and at times physically demanding environment, the Logistics Specialist must adapt to varying priorities, environmental conditions (such as heat, cold, and dust), and stakeholder expectations. The role contributes to the overall reliability and responsiveness of the logistics function, upholding safety, integrity, and professional service delivery in line with organizational values and mission objectives.

Essential Functions:
The Logistics Specialist is expected to carry out the following duties in accordance with established procedures, safety standards, and operational requirements:
Receive, inspect, and process inbound consignments, ensuring accurate documentation, quality checks, and compliance with established procedures.
Perform deliveries of stores within the JDFPG site and HLS warehouse.
Package, palletize, and consign inventory for dispatch, utilizing various modes of transport (road, air etc.).
Prepare documentation for the dispatch of outbound consignments, including those sent via Air Mobility Command (AMC) flights. Perform inventory-related transactions in the system of record (SAP).
Report observed discrepancies in stock levels, transactions, and serial numbers
Conduct reporting and control of excess and/or unserviceable goods
Correctly handle and store hazardous materials. Provide timely notification of any observed incidents relating to hazardous materials.
Provide professional and timely assistance at the customer supply counter by promptly responding to inquiries and fulfilling requests
Perform physical warehouse inventory stock takes, documenting and certifying results, and reconciling discrepancies.

Qualifications:
Minimum Essential:
Proven experience in logistics, warehousing, or a related field
Proficiency in relevant computer software and applications
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a dedicated team
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills
Sound administrative and record-keeping skills
Valid driver’s Licence
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in operational tasks
Desirable:
Vocational training or qualifications in logistics or supply chain management
Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS) or equivalent tools
Current HR driver’s Licence
Forklift Licence and materials handling experience
First Aid and CPR certifications
White Card certification (construction site safety)
Inventory analysis experience, including demand planning and stock level reviews
Experience and Skills:
Minimum of 6 months' experience in the logistics, warehousing, or supply chain industry.
WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS, AND MENTAL DEMANDS
Ability to independently lift and handle items weighing up to 25 kilograms as part of regular duties.
Physical stamina and endurance to perform tasks that involve prolonged standing, walking, bending, or repetitive motions.
Capability to operate material handling equipment and safely maneuver heavy loads as needed.
Tolerance to work in outdoor and remote environments under varying weather conditions

EHS REQUIREMENT
