Role Title: Process Author
Role Description: Our client operates as Navy's central authority for the maritime engineering, technical assurance and logistics governance. Underpinning the sustainment of Naval platforms by ensuring engineering integrity, configuration control and compliance with Defence standards.
Together with the business management systems (BMS) which provides the overarching governance and process framework for sustainment activities; they apply these policies and systems to deliver safe, reliable and cost effective through-life support for the Royal Australian Navy’s fleet.
Primary Responsibilities: Under the BMS Product Manager, the Process Author is responsible for the development, sustainment and continuous improvement of processes supporting the program. Operating within a dynamic and agile team, the role ensures that process definition and improvement solutions meet operational, safety and sustainment objectives. Key duties include, but are not limited to:
• Develop a suite of supporting processes to enable optimisation across the sustainment enterprise.
• Develop standardised processes, procedures and work instructions in a consistent and repeatable format within the BMS for:
o Maintenance
o Supply Support
o Engineering
o Asset Management
o Commercial
o Work Health, Safety & Environment (WHSE)
• Ensure all developed processes comply with ISO 9001 and ISO 55001 standards.
• Collaborate with policy authorities to maintain alignment between enterprise processes and current policy.
• Undertake stakeholder engagement and analysis.
• Develop and implement a methodology for continual review, consultation, update and improvement of baselined processes.
• Conduct regular updates to ensure process currency, relevance and compliance.
• Maintain configuration integrity of approved processes
Essential Requirements:
- Formal qualification in Business Process Management, Quality Process Management, Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years' experience in mapping current-state (as-is) and design future-state (to-be) processes
- Capture pain points, validate findings and secure buy-in for process improvements
- Demonstrated experience in process modelling, documentation and governance.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 55001, ideally with experience aligning process documentation to these standards.
- Must hold an active Security Clearance
Desirable Requirements:
- Prior and demonstrated experience with Holocentic (Business Management System) tool
Salary Range Depending on Experience: $120,000 - $130,000 plus super
Required Security Clearance Level: Baseline (NV1 ideal)
Location: Sydney
Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week
