Amentum is supporting the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in providing specialized training, advisory and mentoring services to National Training Center (NTC). 

The National Training Center (NTC), the Department’s Center of Excellence for Security and Safety Training and Professional Development, designs, develops, and implements state-of-the-art security and safety training programs for Department federal and contractor personnel nationwide, including the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).  

POSITION SUMMARY:

Amentum is currently seeking experienced and dynamic ProForce Course Managers in Albuquerque, NM. The SME will lead and deliver advanced training programs for protective force personnel.  This role involves managing course development, overseeing training delivery, and ensuring compliance with established safety and security standards of the DOE NTC. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in protective force operations, firearms training, intermediate use of force, instructional methodologies, and leadership training.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Analyzes, designs, develops and/or delivers curriculum course materials including instructional plans, exercises, evaluations, activities, job aids, and all other required materials, in accordance with company/client requirements.  Instructional topics may include but are not limited to: Firearms Instructor Training and Certifications; Advanced Weapons Systems and Tactical Training; and Intermediate Force Training.
    • These topical areas include the following:
    • Various firearms systems to include handguns, long range rifles, AR variant rifles, belt-fed machine guns, 40mm shoulder fired systems and breaching shotguns.
    • Tactical training to include live-fire shoot house training, close quarter battle and close quarter marksmanship.
    • Intermediate use of force training that involves various handcuffing, crowd control and arrest techniques.
  • Bases training solutions on current and anticipated tactical, operational, and strategic threats according to current DOE doctrine.
  • Applies comprehensive knowledge of law enforcement, commercial, and innovative educational techniques to the process.
  • Observes courses and conducts analysis to evaluate effectiveness of training to support continued maintenance of curriculum course materials.
  • Maintains appropriate curriculum development and instructional records.

COURSE MANAGER LEVEL 1 – 4 REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:  

Please refer to each Course Manager Level section for required education, years of experience, and certification(s) required. All levels of ProForce Course Managers require the following skills and qualifications:

  • Active US Government Q Clearance OR the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Q Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a US Government A Clearance. Dual citizenship with a country other than the US does not qualify.
  • Working under only general direction provides technical solutions to a wide range of training development and execution projects.
  • Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions.
  • Exhibits excellent writing skills and demonstrates mastery of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Expert with all Microsoft programs.
  • Exhibits a high degree of attention to detail while designing, developing, and editing course products.
  • Capable of working under tight deadlines and managing tasks through to successful completion.
  • Able to work well with SMEs in a group or independently with minimum supervision.
  • Related professional experience in law enforcement, industrial security, or a related field. [NOTE: Acceptable experience includes any combination of relevant education, training, and experience (i.e., experience comparable in difficulty to college-level work), totaling four years above the high school level, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.]
  • Knowledge of DOE orders, DOE Deadly Force policy, and the Use of Force Continuum related to firearms, firearms safety, and qualification courses.
  • Knowledge of Live Fire Range operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and orders pertaining to safeguards and security training, and safety.
  • Demonstrated initiative, with a strong work ethic and unquestioned integrity.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in the use, function, training points, and tactical deployment of firearms.
  • Level of physical fitness and agility sufficient to perform requisite physical tasks and functions.

COURSE MANAGER LEVEL 1

  • Active Certifications: None.

COURSE MANAGER LEVEL 2

  • Active Certifications: MIT-111, PFT-401, PFT-403, TRF-100 course.
  • Can instruct with certifications and experience: TRF-100, PFT-401, PFT-403.

COURSE MANAGER LEVEL 3

  • Active Certifications: MIT-111, PFT-401, PFT-402, PFT-403, PFT-405, PFT-406, TRF-100.
  • Can instruct with certifications and experience: PFT-401, PFT-402, PFT-403, PFT-405, PFT-406, TRF-100.

COURSE MANAGER LEVEL 4

  • Active Certifications: MIT-111, PFT-401, PFT-402, PFT-403, PFT-405, PFT-406, PFT-320, PFT-321, PFT-322, PFT-501, TRF-100, TRF-200, TRF-420.
  • Can instruct with certifications and experience: All.

VALUED BUT NOT REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Previously qualified Protective F -OR- Special Operations Force (SOF) -OR- Combat Arms qualified professional.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Education, Information and Learning, Adult Learning, Instructional Design, or related fields from a US Department of Education accredited institution.
  • Knowledge of federal security regulations (e.g. DOE, DOD).
  • Proven knowledge of international policing models and institution building.
  • Advanced certifications in security or law enforcement fields.

       

Compensation Details:

$85,987 - $116,000

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
