Amentum is currently seeking a Program Director for a program located within the Sustainment and Analytics Business Unit. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Air Force and Special Mission Programs will be responsible for all contractual and financial requirements while ensuring compliance and strategic objectives. This position requires exceptional program management skills to create change, implement best practices, and provide excellent customer service.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement program strategies, objectives, and plans to ensure successful delivery of services to the customer.
  • Identify issues and adapt program plans according to the customer’s feedback on the program’s cost, performance, quality, schedule, and risk.
  • Develop and manage the program budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to meet program objectives.
  • Address contractual and technical programmatic issues and collaborate with functional units to prepare modifications and negotiate changes with the customer as needed.
  • Track performance metrics, develop report formats, and prepare reports that demonstrate contract performance for submission to management and the customer.
  • Facilitate regular meetings and updates with stakeholders to monitor progress and address any issues.
  • Monitor expenditures and financial performance, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure the program complies with all applicable regulations, standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on program performance.
  • Ensure success in meeting key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, unions, and regulatory agencies.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all program-related inquiries and communications.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovations within the program to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at optimizing program performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze comprehensive maintenance evaluation results and make significant operational course corrections based on data to ensure high-quality maintenance is consistently provided.
  • Provide in-depth knowledge to evaluate and apply continuous process improvement in program effectiveness and in aviation maintenance operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Education:

  • Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline. Two (2) years of experience in a related field can be substituted for each year of the required four (4) years of college. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Relevant Experience:
  • A minimum of twenty (20) years of progressive leadership experience in aviation maintenance and operations. Candidates should demonstrate a background in senior – level management equivalent to a military wing/group/squadron Commander, CEM or a civilian Director of maintenance/Operations for a large -scale fleet
    • Demonstrated aviation operations and maintenance expertise, including the ability to implement and sustain quality maintenance operations in compliance with established safety, maintenance, and regulatory standards.
    • Proven experience overseeing programs involving state contracts, including familiarity with public-sector operations and regulations.
    • Experience working with multiple unions, including managing unionized personnel and navigating collective bargaining agreements.
    • Strong understanding of multi-functional large-scale aviation maintenance/aviation operations organizations.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of aviation quality and safety practices, with a strong ability to develop, implement, and oversee safety management systems and quality assurance programs for aviation maintenance and operations.
    • Expertise in personnel management policies, practices, and procedures, including the ability to adjust work operations to meet emergencies, adapt to new program or production requirements, and balance resources to achieve objectives without sacrificing quality.
    • Proven ability to build, lead, and motivate effective teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring high performance across various levels of stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative process improvements and successful program management in high-pressure environments.

Compensation Details:

  • $175,000-$200,000 Annually
